Traditional Danish Food: 20 amazing dishes you must try in Denmark
Traditional Danish food is more or less all about meat and fish dishes with potatoes and gravy - like stegt flæsk med persillesovs and herring. However, within the last 20 years, Danish chefs have incorporated more organic and local produce into the cuisine, so you’ll see this a lot in Danish restaurants - especially on Bornholm and in Copenhagen. This is known as New Nordic cuisine or New Danish cuisine.
I use this software bit.ly/3DrLg5d for my thumbnails into my videos...
1. Stegt flæsk med persillesovs
2. Karbonader
3. Frikadeller
4. Juleand
5. Smørrebrød
6. Fresh seafood
7. Tarteletter
8. Flæskesteg
9. Pickled herring
10. Danish hot dog
11. Koldskål med kammerjunker
12. Leverpostej
13. Klarsuppe
14. Boller i karry
15. Forloren hare
16. Mørbradgryde
17. Stjerneskud
18. Stegt medister med rødkål og kartofler
19. Hamburgerryg med flødekartofler
20. Fiskefrikadeller

Feel free, but hardly nobody eat duck doing xmas, they eat geese or roasts, duck for xmas in kinda oldschool and not prefered anymore, unless you live on the countryside, and get one from youre friend from his garden. and flæskesteg is eaten alot doing xmas, because the supermarkeds cut 90 % of the price, but is sold and consumed the whole year around, if you want an good flæskesteg, come doing summer when they are being BBQ. Duck is however served to something called '' mortens aften'' how do i know - 15 years as an professioneal chef, and 5 years+ as a butcher.

remember that just because this is traditional cuisine, doesn't mean that it's eaten everyday healthier food options are WAY more common in denmark, and traditional foods are often eaten on special occasions

because we havent eaten it science the war. nobody weants to buy it, so people dont sell it, and nobody got time to make it them self, also it was an local dish people mostly ate on Sjælland, a little bit like '' julekål med kogt flæsk '' were mosrly consumed in jylland, and hardly anybody in sjælland knows about it, or an amager mad, which is butter ryebread toast and sugar, sandwich is hardly known outsite of copenhagon.. you cant call it danish food, when it is ristricted to areas. and 90 % of denmark dosent know what it is.

My question does Denmark have any dishes as daring to eat as surstromming? Not planning to try anything like that, but just curious. 😂 I have quite a bit of Danish on both sides and wonder my this part of my heritage has as such a vile thing.
@Rawsawn
@Rawsawn 2 жыл бұрын
I dont think so, ive heard of Surstromming, but it looks very vile and most people throw up. Now if you were from Iceland or maybe its Faroe islands im thinking of, they would see that Surstromming and top it off with head from an animal dug down and left to rot in the ground for god knows how long, dug back up and then turned into food somehow.. i mean rotten head from the eath. Thats a little more than "aquired taste" id say.

Why not say " det ligner bræk " instead of " LIGNER HUND OPKAST " ?. looks like you took English and translated it to Danish in Google translate. It sounds like a 3 year old making a sentence. And if you wonder why I wrote that, that's because it's 5 in the morning and I'm bored. Have a nice day
