Traditional Guineo Verde Recipe From Puerto Rico (Green Bananas with onion, garlic, oil, vinegar)

This is a delicious recipe from the island of Puerto Rico. The main ingredients are: Guineo Verde (small green bananas), onions, garlic, stuffed green olives (alcaparrado), white vinegar , olive oil, salt and black pepper.
You should chill the Guineo Recipe for at least 6 hours before serving. Green bananas are plentiful in the Caribbean. This yummy dish goes well with rice nd beans, steak, chicken, pork or just by itself. Consume within three or four days preparing. Happy cooking!

Its called guineitos en escabeche what your makeing. Its delicious. I also put bay leaves and olives in mines black pepper also. Its yummy.

Hi, I am so happy I found you. I have been on a quest asking every youtubber that make pasteles or guineos for the difference between green gassed cooking bananas and a regular banana that you eat ripened. can you please clarify this. you stated your bababa grows everywhere in PR, so are they the regular bananas we eat when ripened or are they green cooking bananas? I am attempting to make pasteles and I have been buying the cooking grenn bananas at my supermarket as opposed to the unripened green regular ones, No one is answering this question on the web, can you please......

Plantains are different than bananas. Goineo's are much smaller and sweet like a regular banana. Here in PR we have both types of trees.

Boil the guineos with the skin on but sliced down the middle. When boiling is complete, let them cool and then peel them.
