Hey Miss Debbie, I agree with you that sorrel drink flavor is better without ice. When I lived in very cold places, I used to also enjoy a steaming hot cup of sorrel chased with some additional brandy. It really warmed me up. I find that living here in South Florida though, where it’s really hot, sorrel poured over cracked ice is to die for.

Recently had Sorrel drink in St Vincent. Some people use too much All spice and others not enough . If you use the Strong Rum it will have a kick but a good balanced punch with normal rum makes a great and refreshing drink. Very tasty

It's the season for sorrel in JA right now. Xmas is here. We dry those sorrel buds in the bright JA sunshine over a few days on a piece of zinc to dry them fast, and save the dried buds for making the sorrel drink later during the rest of the year. Its a fab..u..lous drink plus or minus the rum and red label wine. You know that red label wine make you feel so fine.

@donavansmith32473 жыл бұрын
Nice, sorrel actually has many health benefits like it's good for high blood pressure and diabetes just to name a few, without the alcohol and very small amount of sugar or none at all. I make it year round so I always have it ready, I steep mine for 3 or 4 days then I blend it out and squeeze it through a fine cloth strainer that I make specifically for that purpose. I also sometimes add fresh cranberries. I bottle it out in 1.5 liter glass bottles and it will start fermenting. Warning though I've had it buss up bottles a few times. Lol
