Before visiting this amazing pie and mash place just a short walk from Tower Bridge I had tried some great pie and mash........ however, I was blown away by Manze's
Up until Maureen's has been my favourite (a previous vlog) and now - I have a joint favourite.
M. Manze is off the charts and is absolutely in my top 2 pie, mash & liquor places in London.

I used to live in a little bedsit directly above this very branch of Manze's :) this was before the poncy bike shop and everything shot up nearby. There used to be great food at a pub painted red across the road wonder if that's still there and what it was called? They used to do an amazing deep-fried poached egg and asparagus. But I digress. There were some great little food options on that road. And would you believe my rent was £120 a week, all bills included! You wouldn't even get a box room for that in that location now. I then moved to Vauxhall to a tiny studio flat which was £530 a month (no Manze's downstairs but still - indicative of the mad hike in rental prices!) - Vauxhall was an amazing place to live also with some great food options. I lived on South Lambeth Road which was nicknamed 'Little Portugal' due to its range of Portuguese restaurants and bars. Such a great time to live in London (Early 2000s). Wish I was young again!

Now there a novelty a Spar wagon going thru Tower bridge... but thats not why you called !! This (Boy) as in 'Dave Green' is just the epitamy of good taste and style, reminds me of a cross between a very young Errol Flynn and Bamber Gasgoine. Debonair ,Dashing and quick on the buzzer, a sort of working mans Daily Mirror. Glad to see you upended the pies and used a spoon. in the 60's I went to school down the New Kent Road and every dinner time went for Pie & Mash with proper liquor (made with eel juice) at either Manze's or Joycie's. Arments in Westmoreland Street just off Walworth Road also excellent. Glad to see no Nottingham Mouth here, you're so much more refined. Subbed. We have always loved Manzes both in Tower bridge and Peckham and still have it delivered to where we are now in Kent, have also sent to my Dad in Scotland as he lived in London for so long he loves it too. Greetings from Australia. Been enjoying watching your vlogs which are helping me plan my trip to the UK once international travel opens up for us again. I will be doing as many cafe meat pie experiences as I can pack in as well as pork pie tasting. When I 1st arrived in Aus from UK in 1987 there was a comic skit on the radio here with a Northern sounding Pommy Whinger complaining about Aus. His line was "it's awful here; the summers are too hot, the beer too cold and the pies taste horrible." He was spot on for 2 out 3. I will be avoiding your beer.
