He's actually already married to the black-haired woman. The song is about an envious woman who wants to take the place of a man's wife. She even wishes the man's wife would break her legs and die. The upbeat tune is supposed to clash with the dark lyrics. That said I also recommend checking out the version recorded by Celtic Woman. It's even more upbeat.

@@bellbell251 I agree. Not too fond of "mystical" either. The song is about a woman wanting to run off with a married man and for his wife's legs (feet?) and bones to break. Also, in the first verse she wishes Páidín's wife died. The animation is lovely, but knowing the words makes it very funny. 'Go mbristear do chosa, do chosa Go mbristear do chosa ‘bean Pháidín Go mbristear do chosa, do chosa Go mbristear do chosa ‘s do chnámha May your legs (I'd say feet is more accurate) be broken, be broken May your legs be broken, Páidín’s wife May your legs be broken, be broken May your legs and your bones be broken'
