For the record...
I am not sponsored or affiliated with anyone or any company in any way shape form or fashion at this time and as of 03/2021... that may change one day but for now...I have not accepted free products for over 2 years now and the only compensation or money I receive comes from youtube... they pay me depending on how many times you wonderful viewers watch my video and for how long it is watched... and please believe me when i say that I truly appreciate that...I will say that several kitchen gadget companies have reached out to me to sponsor or showcase their products...(some were really big companies and I have second guessed my decision on more than one occasion) I just don't think it is what this is about... meaning youtube reviews in general... but please understand me... and take my word when I humbly say that i absolutely understand others that do... and I may even do it myself one day... youtube is a lot more work than most people think so I understand why anyone doing it would only try to make as much money as possible... and I'll also say that i don't think free items...or even being sponsored... or even affiliated links...influence most creators reviews or even what they suggest for you to purchase from their Amazon etc. links...(I have purchased many items from the links provided in the video description of the people I myself follow) I trust anyone I follow or I do not follow them... but... I just wanted everyone to know that i am free and clear... at this time... of any outside influence and I understand if that does not matter to you and I also understand why... it is just the path I feel I need to follow at this time...so... I guess I said all of that just to say.....The only way i receive money is when people watch my KZbin videos... therefore I do not have any links for the items I use... you can mostly find any of them by googling the name of it and if it is something I don't mention then please feel free to ask about it and I will try to answer... thanks for your time and I hope you understand...i do want to say that I am literally a one man operation... meaning that I do all the planning... research... recipe test... any lighting or artwork on walls etc... shopping... videoing... editing... answering comments... washing dishes... thumbnail pictures... and taste test...lol... babydoll does help with dishes and some of my show ideas sometimes... but she mainly takes care of the more important things such as keeping our grandchildren... it is her favorite thing on earth by far and without a doubt... it truly makes her very happy... she also reads the Bible a lot... something I hope i can catch up to her on one day... she is also really good at making sure I have clean clothes and ...among many other things she tries to help anyone she can with things like taking them to their doctors appointment...etc... or picking up and keeping some of the best nieces anyone could ever ask for... they are truly...and I really mean it when I say... some really good and lovable kids... she also listens to my constant yammering about what I'm doing next and how I'm going to do it...lol... she's a good one and I know I'm not only blessed but also way too stubborn and picky for very much advice...lol... but... she's my rock and I love her more than i love myself... but...most importantly and with true honesty...I really mean it when i say...I love y'all all... and thanks for being here!!!... jelly

The big peak at the beginning would be from the hot rod igniting the pellets. I presume the hot rod cycled off to cool down and came back on to ensure the pellets were fully ignited causing that dip in wattage draw at the beginning.

Hey John I really want a portable smoker. Does the ranger have some of the sa.e problems that the scout has. Just recently bought and returned a scout that had heat fluctuations in the 100 degree range. Called treager and they said I had a bad rtd probe. I had just bought the thing two days before. Main thing is did you ha e flare ups wi th ranger and or big fluctuations also did it maintain a consistent heat such as at 225.
@dkuhlman2282
@dkuhlman2282 3 жыл бұрын
Same for me. Had the Scout with large temperature fluctuations. Too much for any kind of a long cook like ribs. Prefer the Big Green Egg.

Absolutely. There are almost the same thing inside, just smaller. Actually get hot much faster cuz the size.

I have that grill, When you are doing hamburgers it gets very hot and all the heat and smoke come out the back so don't face the back to a wall or anything you don't want to get yucky!

Mine has been bullet proof, cooks real well and I love it. Seems it needs a bit more temp than my Ironwood 885 though. Also, manual says you need to keep the back of the Ranger away from a wall etc, needs vent room, blessings.

That grill looks to big to be considered portable to me, and cooking space seams to be limited. Battery packs do make taking these new electric smokless grill an excellent choice for tail gating and cooking on deck.

@David Thanks David. I've been following John for many moons. Because of this channel I have bought an Instapot, a Ninja Foodi, and oven, a blender, and I have been grateful for all the videos. I'm about at my limit on kitchen utensils to cook/bake/whatever. John is a great guy and a great teacher, but there comes a point where I have to say no to any new devices, and this seems like the place.
