I am not LDS, however, I have the utmost deepest respect for the missionaries and what they do. I always give them a toot, will always offer them water and a snack if they call, and always be polite. LDS missionaries are an inspiration and shining light in our community. I am beyond certain that when and if I get to Heaven, LDS members will be right there with me. Who knows... we may all get a surprise!

Being a missionary is a great responsibility! A missionary must have great energy, fortitude, and courage. Wherever the missionary goes, no matter what part of the world he is in, he must spread the Word. Locals must understand what the missionary is telling them. The missionary must get the Word right! Therefore, every missionary must know the language of the local people! This wonderful book will give you answers how to properly learn a foreign language with a minimum of your time and effort. All love brotha ! Really ? I have really nothing against religion. I am the son of a theologian, archaeologist and historian father and an anthropo-ethnologist mother. I grew up on 23 countries on 4 continents surrounded with people who all had their own beliefs "sometimes antagonistic sometimes similar", each of them sure that their faith is the right one. There are only three religions i encountered in my journey where animals were respected, The Ebionites (some of them still being among us today practicing their faith, which is probably the closest thing to what Jesus himself may have believed in), the Quackers of the 17th century who refused any form of animal sacrifice, just like the Ebionites, and who (the Quackers) later on founded the Vegetarian society of England in 1847, and of course the most pacifist religious group of all, Jainism who could teach the entire planet a thing or two on compassion. Other than these three groups, the common trait of all other religious groups on the planet is cruelty toward animals, animal sacrifice, and a total disrespect for animal life. Sadly leading to a total disrespect for life itself and all the conflicts we see when we read the news today and witness conflicts started allegedly (because we now know that there is more at stake, like money and power) by religious groups. If you do not show respect and compassion, you can't teach respect and compassion, it is as simple as that. If there is cruelty in your plate, then you accept cruelty as part of your life. It is 2020, we are facing the latest and largest pandemic since the Spanish flu . I am a wild life veterinarian and epidemiologist and ethologist so this is my field of expertise far more than religion is, but like any true scientist i believe in facts rather than faith. So here are the facts. Since the beginning of the 21st century we have faced 4 major pandemics, H1N1, H5N1, (SARS and MERS) , the Ebola pandemic and today the Coronavirus. All of these viruses came from the consumption of animals, ALL OF THEM. Now as a scientist it is very easy to put 2 and 2 together and get = if we do not eat animals we do not get those pandemics. Take a country like India which is mostly vegetarian due to religious beliefs in Hinduism and Buddhism, and you have 17 cases of people affected by the virus and 0 death , in a country which counts 1,3 billion people, while a country like Italy which counts only 60 million people counts 25 000 cases of the Coronavirus and already over 1800 deaths. These are the scientific facts. Countries with a large consumption if meat and a large meat industry are more likely to be at the origin of a viral outbreak, while countries who do not condole animal food are more likely to be less affected. Another certain fact is that meat eaters are at the origin of all these viral outbreaks. So maybe the religious person in you can put 2 and 2 together and get = if we stop killing animals and respect them, we will live better, healthier, longer and we will save this planet. The problem with religion is that sometimes it forgets that nature doesn't care about it. Animals and plants do not build temples or worship things and yet the natural world functions perfectly, and has for millions of years. We , human beings, worship things, build temples and yet we are BY FAR the most dysfunctional and destructive species on the planet and we have almost irreversibly destroyed it in the past century and especially in the last 30 years. We destroy it and yet we want to teach compassion and kindness toward others. Isn't this all a tad self-indulgent and self-righteous and phenomenally egotistical and selfish ? All love brotha ? Are you sure ? Start loving the animals before they end up in your plate.

This one is for any other 'new' converts (or disillusioned ones) watching these Mormonic series: This information is presented, not to criticize Mormons as individuals, but to encourage them to base their faith on the truth about Jesus Christ revealed reliably in the Bible. If you want to understand why I think it is important to contrast Mormonism with biblical Christianity and the values that guide our efforts, then please read on, for I have MUCH personal research: 1. Jesus’ resurrection happened; the First Vision did not: Thorough investigation confirms that the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ are well-supported historical facts. However, conflicting accounts from Joseph Smith himself and other problems demonstrate that the First Vision-Joseph’s supposedly seeing the Father and the Son in 1820-never happened. 2. The Bible is ancient; the Book of Mormon is modern: Evidence from history, archaeology, and other fields of study prove that the Bible is a collection of ancient writings and confirm much of its historical claims. By contrast, the evidence shows that the Book of Mormon is not translated from ancient scriptures but is a nineteenth-century fiction. 3. Genesis is authentic; the Book of Abraham is not: Biblical manuscript discoveries of the past two centuries have not called into question the authenticity of a single book of the Bible. On the other hand, as the LDS Church has recently admitted, the text of the papyrus from which Joseph Smith claimed to translate the Book of Abraham has nothing to do with Abraham, but is an ancient pagan Egyptian funeral text. 4. The text of The Bible is reliable; the Joseph Smith translation is not: Those same biblical manuscript discoveries, as well as advances in scholarly knowledge of the biblical languages, have not overturned the reliability of modern versions of the Bible, but only refined our understanding of the precise wording and meaning of its contents. However, the Joseph Smith Translation of the Bible, which Joseph claimed to produce by inspiration, betrays Joseph’s limited understanding of the Bible and has been proved false by biblical manuscript discoveries. 5. The Bible is not missing any books; the Mormon scriptures are: The Bible is not “missing” any books: No book or part of a book that was ever accepted as Scripture by Jews or Christians in the first century has ever been removed from the Bible by later Christians. By contrast, Doctrine and Covenants, a collection of modern revelations Joseph claimed to receive from God, has had whole sections removed and material added in other places to make them agree with Joseph’s changing claims. 6. Biblical prophets did not take many wives in God’s name and lie about it; Joseph Smith did: Although prophets and apostles in the Bible were sinners in need of God’s grace, not one of them ever used his religious authority to justify adultery or other gross sins. On the other hand, Joseph Smith took over thirty “wives,” including married women, claimed that God commanded him to practice polygamy, and lied about it repeatedly-setting a dangerous precedent of disregard for truth. 7. Biblical prophets did not teach racist doctrines; Mormon scriptures and prophets have: The Bible teaches that people of all races are made in God’s image and equal in Jesus Christ. While there have been racists who quoted the Bible out of context to support their views, it was clear to other Christians even then that racism is contrary to the Bible. By contrast, the Mormon scriptures contain racist ideas, and some of the prophets of the LDS Church have clearly taught racist doctrines. After more than century of excluding blacks in Mormonism from the priesthood because they were supposedly under a divine curse, the LDS Church lifted the exclusion in 1978 and belatedly admitted in 2013 that there never was any curse on blacks. 8. Biblical Christianity is monotheistic; Mormon theology is polytheistic: The Bible clearly teaches that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are one eternal God. Human beings are created in God’s image and redeemed with the goal of becoming glorious, immortal beings; however, in biblical doctrine we will never become Gods of the same nature as our Creator. The core of Mormon doctrine is the blatantly unbiblical belief that we were all spirit offspring in heaven of God the Father and his wife, our heavenly mother, and that we came to earth as mortals in order to progress toward becoming Gods ourselves. 9. In the New Testament, Jesus is our only high priest; in Mormonism, every qualified adult Mormon man can be a high priest: The teaching on priests in the Book of Hebrews exalts Jesus Christ alone. It clearly teaches that the priests of the Aaronic order represented the covenant God made with Israel through Moses, a covenant that has been superseded by the new covenant through Jesus Christ, the eternal priest typified by Melchizedek. The Aaronic and Melchizedek priesthood orders in Mormonism, by which Mormon men claim exclusive control over access to God, flagrantly misrepresent what the Bible teaches about priests and were not even claimed by Joseph Smith until a few years after he founded the LDS Church. 10. Jesus announced the end of temple religion; Mormonism has invented a new temple religion: Jesus prophesied that the Jerusalem temple would be destroyed and that God’s people would worship in spirit and truth rather than in special man-made buildings. The Mormon temple system has no basis in the Jewish temple of the Bible, is not a restoration of Christian religion or ritual, and was adapted by Joseph Smith from Freemasonry. 11. The biblical gospel is salvation by grace alone to eternal life as glorified creatures; the Mormon gospel is exaltation to godhood through grace and works: The biblical gospel is a message of salvation by grace alone with works as the fruit, not the basis, of acceptance by God. It steers a course between the two extremes of universalism (everyone or nearly everyone will be saved) and works-righteousness (only those who attain a certain level of personal goodness will be saved). The Mormon gospel - salvation for nearly everyone (except some ex-Mormons), exaltation to godhood for the most faithful and hard-working Mormons - is clearly a false gospel, contrary to the Bible’s New Testament gospel of grace. 12. The biblical prophets pass their own tests, but Joseph Smith does not: The prophets and apostles of the Bible, who set forth tests by which we might recognize false prophets and teachers, passed their own tests. On the other hand, Joseph Smith was a false prophet because he failed all of the biblical tests of a prophet: he gave false prophecies, taught false gods, preached a false gospel, lied in God’s name, and claimed religious justification for breaking God’s commandments. Honestly, I didn't read the whole thing, but, everything you said, felt *wrong*. 1, Whatever you believe will be true in your eyes. However, the conflicting accounts may be the confusion of the receivers recording the book, or it may just be conflicting to you. If, somehow, it didn't, Joseph Smith (Whether you like it or not), did see something. Something did come to known upon him. 2, The Book Of Mormon's Legacy is from the earlier times. It is said that Mormon, upon the Lord's command, buried it in a hill to protect from the future and all that will happen. (Greeks, Romans, Egyptians...) 3, They have admitted it, but you left a few things out. This is what they said concerning the matter: "Speaking of the translation of the Book of Mormon, the Lord said, “You cannot write that which is sacred save it be given you from me.” The same principle can be applied to the book of Abraham. The Lord did not require Joseph Smith to have knowledge of Egyptian. By the gift and power of God, Joseph received knowledge about the life and teachings of Abraham." 4, The Bible is most likely originated by Romans, going off of what you said. And you believe, as long with many others, the teachings of this book. You know the feelings, and Heavenly Father exists, yet it's impossible/not true that someone can have and share their personal experiences? ReAlLy. Never has something been so well constructed. You say it's not true, but believe the in the Bible. Have you read the book of Mormon as well? 5, The Book Of Mormon is missing books due to the fact that others were trying to destroy it, and these two young girl were barely able to save what's left. 6. Joseph Smith did make mistakes. What? You think all prophets are perfect? Only Jesus ever was. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints isn't *exactly* right. No church is. Revelations made though feelings and thoughts are often looked into, and the church is adjusted to be better and more correct. 7, You're right. But there's no true church on the face of Earth yet. Only a selected few are remotely close to being right. Like I'll say at the end, The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints are one of the most accurate churches there is. I know some things were wrong with it. Like how it used to be more about the Savior and not us. But things change. The Church made things focused more on family's, helping others... Not power. Not authority. 8, The meaning of the Holy ghost, Jesus, and God being one is muddled in the minds. Being one could be in spirit, actually the exact same person, or the same equality. I think that it's odd how Jesus prayed unto God. Why would you pray unto yourself? And receive the Holy Ghost. If he's already the holy Ghost, why'd he need to receive it? 9. Like everyone, boys pray to the Lord. They may be said to have more a special connection, but I believe that women together have the same power. But when we're angels again, and are in the Celestial Kingdom, we're equal to God. We can create our own worlds. That's what he wants. Us to be like Jesus. 10, We don't worship in temples. That's blurred for you. Like any decent human being, we're allowed to pray wherever we want, give blessings in house holds, or preform most sacred things anywhere not just in the church/temple. Heck, I bet if they wanted to they could just gather in rivers to be baptized. That's how Jesus was. We make temples for somewhere to go if it's cold, if there's no water around, easier ways to preform, etc. It's just how people are nowadays. Inside feels safer to most. And it's easier. And we do things in spirit and truth. I could go on. 11. The only people that go to hell is those who deny God's truth/existence. Others, when making a mistake, can always repent and go for a better life. That's what nearly everyone will be saved through. Repentance. And those who deny won't be. Being in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saint's doesn't mean only the "the most faithful and hard-working Mormons" will only be saved. 12. How do you think Joseph Smith, a barely educated individual, was able to read the golden plates (or read at all)? Or translate- or make proper grammatical sentences for others to record? And lots of his prophecies did come true. You can't say they didn't when multiple of them did. Conclusion: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints aren't exactly right. You're right on that. But it's the most right church among the Earth today. Ever noticed there's a certain glow, vibe among most Mormons? Ever taken how like everyone else, they are trying to do what's right? It's not because "the most faithful and hard-working Mormons" will be saved, it's because we want to be like Jesus. I know no church is right yet. But they're trying to be and are getting closer every year. And I know there's something, and so far what's made sense is this. I've learned to trust what feels right, peaceful, happy, good. Most people already have a Bible and understand the significance of the Scriptures therein. Most do not know that there is ANOTHER testament of Jesus Christ and a companion to the Bible. It is not meant to replace but to inhance your knowledge of Christ. My family has owned Bibles our whole lives. When I joined the Church and found that God had prepared a second witness of Christ I prayerfully read it and asked fervently for God to let me know the truth of it. I received a powerful witness from God and looking back I didn't even need that at the time because I already knew that it was true by the feeling I had while reading it. I am so happy and grateful that God loves us so much and wants each of us to make it home to him. I really feel his love knowing that he didn't just teach part of the world about Jesus and the Atonement but shared the news with all of the inhabitants of the Earth. After Jesus was resurrected he said that he would now go to his other sheep. This is their story and it's absolutely amazing and glorious.
