We don't swim because of a revelation in the D&C where the Devil was seen riding on the water, and he's given power over such in this day (no missionary drowning, please) And yes, we get paid. Nothing monetary. Yet, do you know that feeling of Joy that comes when the Spirit is right there helping? What better payment is there than knowing our Lord more closely? (service missionary, I'll be back in September) You younger Elders and Sisters carry the spirit with you.

That actually is not the reason, it is just one of those "Mormon Myths" there has never been any leadership in the church stating that. The simple reason is to avoid temptation, and accidents. That part is stated in church manuals

I was approached by missionaries some time ago, at the beginning I thought they were really interested in helping for the sake of helping, but eventually they told me in order to get help and join BYU for free I need to convert! But unfortunately I'm not convinced with religion. Is this normal do people have to convert in order to get help?

No. For the most part ask any mormon for some everyday help and theyll most likely do what they can. the reason they said you might need to convert is because BYU is not a normal college. On top of college classes, there is also mormon practices that go on, as well as mormon rules and standards. And If you were to go in non mormon, you most likely wouldn't enjoy your time there. Also just want to say it's not free for mormons either, they still got to pay quite a bit of money, they just get some money benefits. Hope that helps ij some way. You could go to a different college and you'll be just fine 🙂

We used the Bible and Book of Mormon. This whole year during our Sunday School, seminary, and home study we have been studying the New Testament. Last year it was the Old Testament. The word of God is the word of God. We may speak more of the Book of Mormon when proselyting because people haven't heard of the Book of Mormon before.

It's called programming A form of hypnosis Which in actuality is WITCH CRAFT That's why they push since childhood to memorize things! And then we repeat them every Wednesday. Every Sunday. Every church event. Etc etc etc Not even really understanding and paying attention to the MEANING behind the words we repeat. Because we were told But As I became older I actually read the bible for myself and immediately saw the BOM contradicts the bible! Soon as I saw that I was done with LDS LDS IS MOSTLY ABOUT THE BOM AND JOSEPH SMITH And THEN the Bible is included But in the BEGINNING was the word! That is untrue. One of the focuses in The Church of Jesus Christ is to teach our children the teaching's of Christ through the Bible and the Book of Mormon. We call the book of Mormon another Testament of Jesus Christ because it is meant to add to the Bible. Not Replace it. The Church of Jesus Christ is centered on Christ and family. And one of our main focuses is teaching our children in the home from a young age the teachings of Christ and helping them find and build their own testimony of Jesus Christ. Serving a mission is not only about teach but also serving others
