@@susanbowman6652 Did you really just type out, and list off "Some of the states with slightly more MVA fatalities per capita than California according to who knows where on the internet"? Funny, it also looks like you purposefully cherry picked 10 "red states" 😂. The key word there is "Per Capita" as the vast majority of California's population live in giant dystopian bee hives like LA, San Francisco, and San Diego and an extremely high percentage of those people don't drive, and rely on muh public transportation to get around. Those people count "Per Capita". All your little statistic digging did was show less Californians actually drive than the rest of the country. What's pathetic is the every day behavior seen on California freeways, highways and streets. As long as drivers feel driving is a right, something entitled to them all, we'll see irresponsible behavior behind the wheel. Plus, look at all the "fake plates" cars weaving in and out of traffic all the time. Crashes waiting to happen - and it did! Oh and then there are even the "responsible" drivers who are actually driving nice, registered, licensed and insured vehicles. They can't possibly be bothered to stay off the phone. They all justify their behavior because they're "good drivers with really, really important jobs" or whatever they say to rationalize endangering hundreds as they drive distracted.

In places like Germany and around Europe they airlift the injured out quickly, then they use trucks with cranes to quickly remove the wrecked vehicles. Even a bad accident can be removed in a short time and traffic can flow again. Here in the US is takes hours and hours just to get one lane of traffic open. 🤷

Highest rate of accidents per capita; Georgia Kentucky Louisiana South Carolina North Carolina Alabama Rhode Island New Jersey Indiana Tennessee California also has one of the lowest rates of vehicle accident fatalities per capita.

@@privatecitizenguy2640 I understood you the first time. However, to broad-brush the entire state because of your personal experience is ignorant. What is it about your driving habits that cause perfect strangers to treat you as such? The nationwide trend seems to negate your comment. I guess it’s better to be in a state with ‘vindictive’ people rather than be in a state where you are up to three times more likely to be killed in a car crash. As of October, Mississippi had the highest rate of fatal vehicle accidents. Better being on the receiving end of rude driver behavior than dying in a red state vehicle crash.
