Love the new setup! Watch out for the AHJ though👀 Just kidding!

Nice installs! Good to see you expanding. I have an older Eagle DONT WALK/WALK signal and an Econolite left arrow signal. I may try to put in those LED bulbs you have in my Eagle since I’ve been using the standard incandescent bulbs for years now.

That’s cool, I like the look of the silver pole with that ped signal but are you a licensed electrical Harvard professor because if not the AHJ might come and arrest you

As an unlicensed electrician, the AHJ and Insurance are holding me accountable in court for having multiple System Sensor I3s and pull stations on my unlicensed 24v fire system in my basement!😰 I may potentially face life in prison or worse, the electric chair 🪑⚡️. Please halp me!!😱😱

Thanks! Haha, I know some people always assume these crazy things about the AHJ and electrical work, but they aren’t true!

@@ExitSign250 Could I get in Trouble for having a System for real?
@ExitSign2503 жыл бұрын
Absolutely not. It was a myth created by a certain group of people to scare other enthusiasts. In no way is it true, and it has never happened to anyone ever.

I am with you regarding the LED panels. I prefer the old school incandescent ones also.
@ExitSign2502 жыл бұрын
For real use in intersections using LED makes perfect sense. But for collecting purposes incandescent has always been more charming to me.
@ZetaReticuli_2 жыл бұрын
@@ExitSign250 Agreed. The LEDs are great when the sun is right behind the light since it still allows you to see it.

I love the controller you made! It has inspired me but I'm not to good at programing if you don't mind could you tell me what you would put for the flasher parts? Thanks.

Do you plan on putting a high/low pressure sodium streetlight(s) to put with your traffic signals and signs?
@ExitSign2502 жыл бұрын
I do not. I personally don’t have any interest in street lights. I know some signal collectors add a street light or two to their setups, but I wouldn’t use one if I had it outside. Good question though!

I've had my first stop light since I was 2 years old and it was incandescent 10 years ago but I put LED models in in it and my stop light is a Eagle mark IV

Sweet traffic light setup! Was creating the controller and programming it hard? I would love to do something like that with my signals than to use a basic 6 channel controller
@ExitSign2503 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I already have a knowledge on electricity and general carpentry so wiring and creating the controller itself to me was easy. The programming on the other hand was a bit tricky. I personally know little about programming nor do I have an interest in programming so that end of the project was the most challenging for me. But I was able to get it all figured out and working how I wanted to! With a little knowledge and research you’d be able to make the controller you want.

I love the new setup! Is part of the inside of your controller 3D printed?
@ExitSign2503 жыл бұрын
Thanks! And yes it is! Good catch, I didn’t realize if anyone would pay attention to that. 3D printing is one of my most recent hobbies/interests. I’ve been printing for around a year and a half now. I like how I can make custom parts like the display in the homemade controller.

I really want one! I’ve been searching for an 8” model since standard 12” ones are too large for me to store or install. I’ve thought about making my own but I need to find matching 8” signal heads and various parts. Maybe some day!

That might work for you, but I just do not have the room. I prefer to collect 8” signals.
