I love my Great of Texas! I had a TX Trooper pull me over the other day & I had my AR15 in my passenger seat & my Glock 19 on me! (I was coming from my hunting land) He didn't care, he didn't ask about them or anything until after the stop. I ran a Yellow Light that he thought was Red & after reviewing his video, he apologized & said, "You were correct & you made that light by 1.5sec & by the way, are you ready for a War?" I said, "No sir, I was hunting but you never know when something will pop off!" He said, "I hope your close to me when or if I ever need help. "Yes Sir, I will" the I was on my way with a Verbal warning.

Also, Trooper Caviness LIKELY caught the truck WITH THE rear antenna, by the time the truck saw him, they slowed down, Like You The Critical Commentors would do, right?

The post-stop, unconsented, warrantless search wins the Zebco Fishing Award for August 2023. Arkansas is now a constitutional carry state. Possession of any firearm discovered on a traffic stop is not evidence of anything. Ultimately, when the civil rights suits get filed, these state employees (under present rules) have no personal liability. We get the great honor of paying out the settlements or judgments as taxpayers. The 4th Amendment applies to all of us, even Black folks in Jefferson county. Interesting to see how this plays out.

@@rsuninv I did indeed watch the video, end to end several times. I actually took notes. The search began the moment the troopers arm went into the vehicle. At that point there had been no mention of weed nor were there any exigencies circumstances. The “odor of marijuana” statement occurred (gratuitously) later and then (IMHO) only for the purposes of the dash cam. There was however, a lot of discussion about “other guns” and that was the actual object of the search. If you ever read ASP’s (program statement 108) regarding DPS employee conduct you might better understand my point. Much of the behavior we see in these videos routinely depict very poor trooper discipline and little, if any, regard for the “rules of conduct.” Most of the vids we see on KZbin are from Troop A. But the problems we see here are systemic. Promoting Hagar was one of the worst mistakes in ASP history and legislative pressure in the next session for his dismissal (retirement) is likely forthcoming. We need ASP. But we need that agency to be completely professional; to respect their rules of conduct and above all else to be free of corruption. It’s easier to nip a problem in the bud. Ask ASP how many troopers (statewide) are currently suspended and, what they are suspended for. You will likely be shocked.

@@NaturalStateTransparency Was this known before the search? It is only incident to arrest if the arrest is made before the search. I didn't hear anything about warrants before the search. Usually a suspect with known warrants would be in cuffs before a search.

Usually? Not always. Especially on this channel as the ASP is good about verifying warrants before even alerting someone to that information. It makes for a calmer interaction. @@jasonk.3182 AS far as was that known before the search, it doesn't appear so but I don't know. I also wasn't there, and can't decipher some of the conversation on the initial approach. Had the driver uttered the phrase "I'm a felon and those are his guns", that may have some relevance as to why a search was performed. Again, the audio wasn't crystal clear so it is unclear to me if any other information was made available to Trp. Caviness prior to searching.

If all you're interested in is sensationalism, unfortunately you can find a cheesy channel that chops a video up to accommodate you.
