They threatened a sevearl hundred pound fine, and added £350 for an "expert witness" ...the person who evaluates all the information....with a video link from her office...it would have been £500 or more if i lost. All i got was my parking costs and petrol. Nothing for my time, after i went to the court twice due to a cock up, and took time out of my day (2 half days) They should pay my court time, prep time, and travel. Nope. This is why they send out fines, with no financial recourse when they lose...

The parking maid never said that the ticket couldn't be read. He just said that it wasn't displayed the way it's supposed to be according to the rules - which don't seem to exist. I'm guessing that there was a hat between the ticket and the window, and that the guy didn't feel like leaning over to try to see it. The parking maid probably took a picture from the side - not the front.

I had a similar experience once and had to send a copy of the ticket to the council office as proof of payment. I blew it up to A1 size and enclosed a leaflet for the local opticians. They wrote back saying the fine was cancelled but they found my sarcasm abusive and uncalled for... 😂

To protect myself from ever being caught in a similar situation I place the parking ticket in a clearly visible position and then take a photo of it on my phone. I then have visible proof if I were unfortunate enough to be scammed by a dodgy ( or partially sighted ) warden.

Officially they say traffic wardens can’t cancel parking tickets once they’ve been issued. I got a parking ticket once when I had a permit to park clearly displayed and confronted the warden and told him I’m not wasting my time writing to the council because he’s blind and demanded he sort it out (I admit I lost my cool) and to my amazement he did cancel it! So it is certainly possible.

To be honest, some of your videos I like. This one however, annoys me for a number of reasons. 1) You failed to show the positioning of your ticket which would obviously help us make our minds up about who to side with on this occasion. 2) Your timing of being able to come back, find the ticket and then 'wait' around for a traffic warden to show up, who instantly remembers your ticket and can remember why you were issued the ticket - but we can leave the point as coincidence 3) You say 'do I sound like I am arguing' ... while you are arguing; I've not got the definition but it's a difference of opinion which I'm sure comes under argument. 4) I've lost count of how many tickets you have on display you say 'the ones that are upside down' 'it was in there' - so how many and where?, and you expect HIM to faff around to locate your valid ticket?... and then complain that he gives YOU work to do?... He may have seen it, he may have not, I like at not one point you say that you don't deserve a ticket, because you clearly do. Enter point 5 5) You walk over to the parking instructions but conveniently don't actually read the 'terms and conditions'. If you did it would read something like this... *and ensure that the parking ticket is clearly displayed in the windscreen of your vehicle* - perhaps saying the date and time clearly visible perhaps not. 6) Then we find out when you showed him your ticket in the photo, it's behind a hat! .. which again refer to point 1. 7) Your end comment 'Just make sure you pay attention man', then I recall other passive aggressive comments in your videos as you love to have the last word. From my perspective, you have made this encounter happen, even set up for video. You wanted him to give you the ticket. Very disingenuous, Saying that you have to make money.

The wording he repeatedly quoted to you was nowhere on the sign. All he had to do was say "I'm sorry, I can see you paid. Unfortunately, the system doesn't allow me to cancel the ticket, but please appeal and I will make sure I tell the appeals department that you paid and you will definitely get it back. If there was any other way, I would help, but there isn't."

They are looking quickly for a valid ticket, they don't have time to look thoroughly on your dashboard. If you have old tickets on there or hats that are in the way your valid ticket will get missed.

The best one I got was officially “issued” after I had got back to my car and was standing in the local town hall complaining about it, the ticket was issued for 14:45, but I had driven a mile to the town hall parked, walked in, waited for 15 minutes before being seen and was finally seen at the time the ticket was issued for overstaying 🤦‍♂️

What I've been doing for the past few weeks is whenever I park my car, just take a quick video of where it is parked in relation to buildings and other cars, any parking signs nearby and the condition of my car (no damaged doors or fenders etc). That way, I have proof if it gets stolen or hit or a parking ticket because the time is on the smartphone video.

Everybody should know that once a ticket is issue it cannot be removed and an appeal must be lodged to dispute not waste half an hour with the warden that issued it
