It all began in 2018, when ABS-CBN's Star Hunt Academy sought to build a group that would represent a new wave of Filipino talent. The vision was bold: create a group that could stand toe-to-toe with the global giants of pop. A story of eight girls eight dreamers who refused to give up even when the world seemed to turn its back on them. For the eight girls who would become "BINI" Aiah, Colet, Maloi, Gwen, Stacey, Mikha, Sheena, and Jhoanna the journey was anything but glamorous.

Karera was release in 2023 followed by Pantropiko the same year, but Pantropiko went viral in summer of 2024. That is when BINI became phenomenal group. Salamin salamin being part of the released EP March 2024, it became the next big thing for them. But nice vid, catchy to international audience

It is great to summarize their rise to fame in this shorter video, but this misses a number of critical milestones/mentionables. The pandemic was not mentioned. The origin of the name "BINI" was not explained, which is central to the concept of the group. DaCoconutNut was the pre-debut song, which was met with widespread criticism. After releasing a number of songs with little effect, it was the meteoric but unexpected success of Pantropiko that finally made BINI burst into the scene and made their fandom explode.
