It seems to me that SM Entertainment have a history of mistreating their idols. Why is the industry 😕 allowing this to continue. These young people bring great joy to many,but are abused and misused for their talent and desire to perform. The sad thing here is that these Entertainment companies seem to pay these idols miniscule wages, while they get a bigger cut of the profits while holding these idols hostage and working them to the bone.#Agregious #Despicable.

No idol should sign a contract without a lawyer present to look over the contract FIRST. So much can be avoided. These are slave contracts. There should be penalties in place if either side breaks it. It infuriates me that they got sold to another country without their consent. Ps. Another very dark side. Is when kpop groups cant make it the girls get tricked to work at hostess bars. I think their is SA rampant to minors. Itll come out eventually. Especially young male idols.

These industries should just whining about money and privilege. It’s just that the workers are angry at and distrustful to other entertainment companies to where they don’t have enough time to change the status quo rather than conform to this malarkey. And on top of that, where’s the equity? That’s the only question they must ask as a whole and come to a democratic understanding.

The moral from these cases.... if you are Korean, don't ever sue your agency no matter how hard it is. Coz in the end, the one who loses everything, are the trainees/idols. Learn from Suju and SNSD who patiently wait until their contract is over. But if you are non-Korean, just do it as fast as possible. Coz their country and people can protect them

A lot of replies in favor of the idols are based on Western sensibilities. Here, acts create themselves. They (or their parents) invest in music lessons, dance lessons, etc. The members of bands form or their own volition. All the record companies do is polish them up and provide financing for production and promotion. As a result, the acts have primary control over their careers as they have primary responsibility for them. No one blames the record company if their favoirte artist declines for whatever reason. In Korea, the entertainment companies spend millions of dollars training, developing, and creating these acts. When the act fails, it's on the company to eat the loss. So, there are terms in the idol's contracts to offset that risk. The debate shouldn't be whether the entertainment companies deserve a return on their investment, they do. It should be how much and under what conditions. Without these entertainment companies, there would be no Kpop or Kdrama idols. Should the contracts be more fair? Absolutely, on both sides. Should other countries such as China be allowed to exploit these contracts so as to learn how the Kpop industry works so they can compete with it? Um, no. I honestly have no sympathy for idols who benefit from being trainees under a company, have that company support and promote them, and then sue to get out of it before the company has even recouped the amount invested, much less any return.
@Kamitube Жыл бұрын
You butchered Jaejoong's and Junsu's name but everything else was very well researched. I was a die-hard fan of DBSK (as a 5 member group) and proud of JYJ's bravery to sue SM. They fought not only for themselves but also for other idols to never have those slave-contracts ever again. The price they payed was high as they were blacklisted and not allowed to appear on music or variety shows anymore. Which led to Yoochun and Jaejoong persuing acting roles and Junsu going into musical. All three very successful in their careers. When they finally performed the soundtrack "Chajatta" on TV after so many years we fans were so happy. I'm still disappointed that the remaining 2 members stayed behind and pretended the other 3 never existed. SM made them re-record their biggest hits "Bolero", "Begin", "Doushite", the One Piece outro "Asu Wa Kuru Kara" and filmed a new MV for "Begin" as well. Then whenever there was an exhibition about TVXQ or a flashback video they always censored JYJ's faces to erase their 7 (!) year old history, making it look like they've always been 2. It was so frustrating seeing this happen and wishing Yunho and Changmin would speak their minds for once but they never did. Their interviews always felt shallow and scripted.. their replies bland. While on JYJ's side we got heartfelt, in-depth interviews, honest tweets, even songs like "Song Without A Name" or "W" where they wrote down their feelings and addressed issues with their agency. Yunho and Changmin continued as if nothing happened. And that caused the fandom to break up into 3 camps (OT2, OT3 and OT5 stans) cause everyone created their own theories in their heads about who still likes whom. Some were convinced they hated each other, others thought they are not allowed to meet, others waited or still wait for reunions etc.. we never really got closure. And the drama in the fandom was super toxic because of it. Never were idols that detached from their fans. If Yunho and Changmin had been honest from the start we wouldn't have had so many misunderstandings and maybe less dramas.. but they decided to leave us in the dark. Our fandom "Cassiopeia" were the biggest registered fanclub world-wide, we were in the Guiness Book of Records. For such a successful band to have their legacy erased like this it's just sad. They were like the "Backstreet Boys" of 2nd generation kpop, everyone knew Mirotic....and nowadays most don't know who they are. We got to thank SM Entertainment for ruining our favorite band. We will never know how far they would have come if they had just been treated better. It's a shame really.

SM needed "Stability" to debut Riize so they said "we have reached an agreement". but in the end EXO CBX really left SM after Riize debuted. Similar cases with YG, Blackpink, and Baby Monster. And I think EXO's biggest enemy is SM
@KPOPNook8 ай бұрын
interesting perspective 🤔 and i can understand where u come from.. Yes it’s pretty similar with BP and BM case, there was a talk that it’s one of the reason why YG Seems to rush BM debut at the end of last year-despite of one key member had to sit out.
@AM_10118 ай бұрын
@@KPOPNook Actually, I'm just guessing. Because EXO and Blackpink are the biggest groups that SM and YG have, losing them is definitely not a good thing for the CEOs And why do I dare to say that SM is EXO's biggest enemy. Because we all know what happened to TVXQ (JYJ) and Jessica Jung, SM really didn't allow them to appear on Korean Television and Jessica was even banned and SM really has the ability to do that. And fortunately EXO CBX left SM in a good way. Sometimes I hate SM because they often miss threats to artists and can't protect and convince their artists to stay. But sometimes I really love SM because SM always produces talented singers from generation to generation. That's my opinion

😂Give it a break, this is becoming like a mechanism of defense. Those in big companies that get everything ready for them just to make the effort to learn it, aka Exo and others, pretty sure aren't "abused"!making millions of dollars, having other businesses on the side,using popularity to sell,big houses and cars, fashion brands, traveling and so on, come on! Would they make those kind of money if the idol industry wasn't there and have to work even harder , go to school 😅 to get a job there and not in 3 life time make that kind of money.This thing foreigners making a big deal about idols is becoming ridiculous!😊
