As a T1D, using Levemir (Detemir) insulin for the last 7 years has been a game changer for me. This unique flexible basal insulin allows me to have normal blood glucose around the clock and lets me practise my endurance athletic activities without the fear of severe hypoglycemia. I can’t afford the higher cost of an insulin pump and Tresiba (Degludec) doesn’t work well for me. I'm urging Novo Nordisk to continue producing Levemir until a biosimilar insulin is available.

understand the necessity of the insulin but why not try to convince the company instead of using government force. It is the company’s product and they can do with it as they please. Government forced pharmaceutical companies to lower insulin prices not too long ago and this is what you get. Convince, by argument and reason, not by the use of a government gun. If this continues, no company will want to get near producing insulin. They will dedicate their efforts to way more lucrative and less problematic drugs like Ozempic.
