Trail Guide -- Picketpost Mountain, Telegraph Canyon & Ajax Mine

We take an off road trail ride in our Kawasaki Teryx beginning on Cottonwood Canyon Road near Florence, AZ and ending in the foothills of Picketpost Mountain. We'll show you some attractions to check out along the way as well as give you an idea about the current conditions of the trail as of March, 2022.

What you didn't see on the video is that we spent a good deal of time collecting trash while we were out. Please go out, have a great time, be careful, and respect the opportunity we have to enjoy these places of beauty. Tread lightly!

So you came in on Cottonwood, to Mineral Mountain Rd., to Ajax Mine Rd., to Telegraph Canyon Rd. then ended up at Picket Post Mountain. That's a good long ride. I've done it but the opposite direction. Sorry you lost your phone. Take it easy out there. Oh ya, one more thing. Please don't go out into the desert by yourselves in one vehicle. I've rescued several people over the years that broke down in the desert or got stuck. One older couple on the very road you just drove; close to the Ajax mine. Boy were they scared as it was becoming dark. I was with a group of Jeepers and they were sure happy to see us. Safe driving and nice video.

Great ride-along, Mike. The view from the overlook is spectacular. Cari is getting to be quite the off road maneuver-arounder-gal! I couldn’t help but snicker at the end when you said you wished it wasn’t so far away….. this from someone that lived in Texas. 😉😉

Exactly! How quickly we can become spoiled to a short commute. It was definitely a longer drive to the mountains from Arlington.

At one point you mention the narrowness of the quad as an advantage but you mention it as a narrow "wheelbase". This is me being a bit of a pedant but wheelbase refers to the distance between the front and rear axles, the distance between wheels across an axle is called the track. Quads have a narrow "track". Sorry for the nitpicking but I sometimes can't help myself! The video was great!🤔😁

You are 100% correct on your definition of those terms. Sometimes the wrong words fly out even when we do know what we're taking about.
