Great idea Clint, even though I will most likely never ride any of these trails it's still fun to see what other people ride on. And the climate you have - it looks like a jungle you would see in a Rambo movie, it's quite different from the terrain we have here in Sweden. Would love to see more of these! I should get my Scott Spark tomorrow or later this week so I'm getting psyched up just by watching KZbin videos. Keep them comming. :-)

Thanks for showing us a trail. I would love to know your favorite trails in Georgia. I hope to camp up there as it warms up here in Florida. Thanks, Bart

A very fun thing to do is to bike pack in. It’s a very straightforward ride from the main road into Hannah. I rode in, got a campsite for 3 days and spent every day on the trails, ending every day with a leisurely cruise on the beach. The bridge complex is about 7 miles and is about a 100 foot climb.

use to race there on the Gone Riding NORBA circuit for several years,, been a while since I've ridden there as well,,may have to head back once again, use to be a pretty flat hammer/road style course but was fairly fun

If you're in that area again there's a trail not far from there at Fort clinch state park that's fun but short, I think it's 7 miles or so but quite a bit hillier, no big climbs since it's FL but a lot of ups and downs, I was able to average a bit over 11mph on the entire thing which for me was a decent pace.. Nice to see these reviews, I like to make a trip every winter to FL and such reviews can really be helpful in making choices. I too thought Hanna Park was much better last year than my prior trip about 5 years ago, either I found more trails or the built more. I never remembered so many options to take 'more difficult" sections in the past.

I've done this trail a couple times a couple years ago and can't remember for sure, but do you think a gravel bike would be okay? I've ridden my slate on lots of other trails and it's fine.
@ClintGibbs5 жыл бұрын
Yes, but you'll have to pick the right line over the roots...and take it slower
@Mostlyharmless19854 жыл бұрын
I’ve taken The south loop on hybrid tires, I had problems keeping grip and getting mired in sand, but if you stay upright and mind the leaves you should be okay. The roots are easy enough to negotiate but you will get punished if you pick the wrong line at speed.

Clint thanks for the review on hanna park. I saw it and decided to take the family because we just got into mountain biking and we had a great time! Even my 5 year old loved the south loop trail! Are there any other trails nearby Jacksonville that are similar in skill lever and terrain that we could try next? Also we ride hard tails and I was wondering if those bikes were proper for Hanna park and others like it? Thanks again!

This trail is near me and I really enjoy it! I also have a Trance 27.5 1 and I agree that the flow is good. I thought it was pretty rooty in some sections (which I like) and somewhat challenging but not anything too crazy. There are a couple of drop-offs too that are fun.

Hi clint How is the city biking in Jacksonville? Is it bike friendly?
@ClintGibbs7 жыл бұрын
+Johnny TheFlyingA14 I haven't biked in Jax so can't really give much of an opinion. Downtown area, except for the path that runs along the river, doesn't seem too great for bikes.

Clint Gibbs oh ok thinking of moving there. Thanks again clint

Clint Gibbs i love the water. I will be bike commuting to work though. I dont know how bike friendly the streets are

Probably would be worth a trip to go find out. Bring your mountain bike and then go ride San felasco which is about an hour and a half from there.

Have you thought of making video of you riding trails?
@ClintGibbs8 жыл бұрын
+cook7772 yes, but I want to do it right and have someone else do the filming. It would take more time to do this so I just need to plan it.

We live about an hour drive from these trails. I can drop my wife off at the beach and I hit the trails. Nice review. It’s a wonder the skeeters did not carry you off while standing there for so long. Lol

AaronVlogz it's pretty decent for beginners. Has some roots, and some sandy spots, but nothing scary or too technical. Get out there and ride man!

AaronVlogz as far a suspension, it will work but be a rough ride. There is a set of trails in a park called "tillie fowler" perfect trails for a beginner. It is across from NAS JAX
