Because of your move @15:01 I didn't turn mine after adding oil. :):):) The shipper said it had 80ML inside. Total for my system is 7.4oz. So I added 4oz to the compressor and a half oz to the accumulator and condensor. I changed everything out.

I did this two yrs ago. I pulled a vacuum and recharged the system. Worked fine for a year when I discovered a leak in the condenser. Repeat. It maintains 40F at the center vent now. My root cause was a compressor clutch worn and the condenser leak from age/corrosion. I'm now at 290k miles and it still runs smooth.

Did you replace the orifice tube? On the older trailblazers it’s inside the fender by the airbox, on the 06 and newer trailblazers it’s supposed to be in the firewall in that line you disconnected and reconnected

I'm taking on the huge task of replacing everything. The accumulator, hoses hi and low, compressor and the condenser. Not all of the parts are in but do you think it will do any harm to get the compressor hooked up before hand? I want to get rid of that monstrous rattle grinding. Normally I wouldn't worry because I have two vehicles. But the other is having major electrical issues. So I kinda need to keep my Envoy sort of ready to go. Even if I can't turn on the A/C. It's cool enough now to do without it anyway.

If you still have it...try the STP ceramic in there after your oil change!. J have to do my compressor, and I'm glad i watched your video to make sure I change the accumulator. This Florida heat is disrespectful!

There's some shims behind the pulley itself. Pop that bad boy off, take a shim or 2 off, and that'll give you some extra life on the compressor. It gets rid of that play. The clutch will eventually wear down, however.

I see why someone didn't bother with those two bolts on the front of the battery tray. I was actually able to remove both of mine and replace them. The trick is you have to remove the bracket the horns are connected to, not the actual horns. And if you remove the headlamp housing, you can feed an extension bar in there to remove and replace the bolts. It was actually pretty simple. I'm no genius, I discovered that by mistake. :):)

Hey buddy so I just replaced my accumulator in my compressor and for some reason my compressor still isn’t kicking on it’s doing the same thing that I did before I replaced both of them I replaced the orifice tube do you have any other idea what it could be also I checked the relay did the latest on it it is getting power
@woodybear8298
@woodybear8298 2 жыл бұрын
Did you replace the A/C relay on the accumulator? Also, take the connector off the A/C relay and short it with a paper clip that should turn the compressor on. Check the voltage at the compressor also; it should be around 14 volts.

This may be a dumb question, but I’m replacing the condenser in my 04 trailblazer LS. Calls for an ounce of pag oil in the condenser. I have to vacuum the system before adding Freon. Will the vacuum pull out the oil I added or am I in the clear?

You shouldn't be putting that much oil in the compressor. The entire system has about 8 ounces, with about a couple in each component. You definitely shouldn't be putting more than 4 ozs in the compressor. Too much oil is as bad as too little oil in these systems.

Check the level of refrigerant. If it’s low, the clutch will not engage. Or check the pressure sensor by the accumulator. I have a video on that sensor.

My new four seasons compressor for my 06 trailblazer states the compressor must be placed or held with the front seal down for 1 to 3 minutes to allow oil to coat the seal , if this isn’t done refrigerant may leak.

Instead of taking mine in to get a recharge, I went to Harbor Freight and bought a set of guages and a vacuum pump for $185 total. I'm sure the shop is going to charge a lot more than that. Especially when they wanted $180 to vacuum. So at least you get something out of the deal besides service.

if it's broken yeah it should be replaced...do the accumulator too. metal shards from the compressor can get into the accumulator then will travel back to the new compressor and grenade it, if you don't

I’m surprised you didn’t power flush the lines and evaporator before putting a new accumulator and compressor in, that old compressor on its last leg probably put fine metal chips in the system and contaminated it, time will tell. PAG oil should not be used on o-rings. Mostly do to the fact they are your seal and you do not want them attracting moisture. This is one cause you see when two joints are locked up. It’s the corrosion caused by the PAG oil.
