Just wanted to thank you for posting this video. I have a 2002 Envoy that had that exact same problem. The control module is no longer available individually to purchase for my vehicle. The mechanic wanted to charge me $300.00 for putting on new wiper motor which includes the module. I went in this morning and took the module out and cleaned it myself as you suggested instead and it works perfectly. You just saved me $300.00 plus the cost of the new part ($166.00) plus tax. Thank you for sharing. Roger

Wow. This is the video that nearly escaped me. Just as I too was about to spend $200-$300, I searched KZbin one last time. Thank goodness. I and my 2002 Trailblazer thank you so very much!!

I know that this a 4 year old video, but it saved me some money and downtime on my wife's 02' TrailBlazer. Once apart and on my folding work table, (did the work in the driveway under the pines) all I did was remove the gear cover from the motor assembly, wiped the excess grease that had spilled over from the worm gear with a paper towel. The contacts were cleaned off using some Mass Air Sensor spray on a paper towel and wiped off. Reassembled to the point of the wiper arms (painted a matte black and let dry overnight in the house) and this morning put them on, checked the operation throughout the entire range, removed the painter's tape from the windshield and that was it. Thank you for posting this fix.

I FINALLY got around to doing this today on my '02 Bravada (5 years later! (Identical setup as a Trailblazer, no Antenna on Bravada's though, lol) Absolutely nice and smooth wiper operation now, I also fixed a clogged washer nozzle since i was all up in it! 😀 Thanks for the perfect video!! Incase anyone else has a clogged nozzle all i did was soak the nozzle in vinegar for a while, then sprayed through it with an air compressor! Boom, like new again!

Hello FishingandRacing, NICE video and thank you for post. I used it to replace my washer nozzles that are under the cowling. Had a broken one that was squirting strait up! Cheers! Mr .P

Thank you. This was exactly my Envoy 2002 issue as well. Nice and smooth wipers now.

Was quite easy to do, wipers work great now. Just be careful with the plastic on the motor, work it slow by the plug with a screwdriver and you will be fine. The terminal tool I bought was made in China, after fighting with it I got the first wiper off but it wrecked the puller. So the passenger side one i used a screwdriver to pry against the metal plate under the plastic shroud on the wiper end.. be gentle and work it around a little bit and it will pop right off.. easy peasy

outstanding I was hesitant but a perfect fit, before I started project I disconnected the washer connection at passenger fender (top) after reinstall booth sprayers shoot over the windshield, it is in the exact spot and tight fit , there are no spray adjustable nozzles, I would understand one side but both, it's almost as too much pressure but the chatter and jerking problem is repaired, any thoughts on my new problem? thanks again Obie Juan kanobi

I did this today trying to fix my wipers that have completely failed. Sadly it did not fix the issue. I can hear one tick when I turn them on but they do not move at all. Thanks for posting this. At least I know what to do when I get the new motor.

My wipers just failed completely. I think a motor assembly replacement is going to happen after i check fuses and relays. Thanks for posting the video so i know how to take it out and the terminal tool .

this worked perfectly for me! OK I used throttle body cleaner for the silver metal side and electric cleaner for the motherboard side.
@DTechnologyservices9 жыл бұрын
also I used wd40 on the metal just a very little so it can rub smoothly, it's also good for super hot or super cold temperature

Ok awesome i need to do this.. I've been dealing with this exact problem for over 3 years on my '02 Bravada.. BUT isn't there a reason for some grease to be in there? Or where would it have came from?
@FishingandRacing9 жыл бұрын
+Chad Constant There will be plenty of grease left after you clean the contact areas. I suspect the grease softens and spreads onto areas it should not be after years of use and exposure to hot under hood temps. Mine are still working perfectly today.

Great video I posted a. Comment 3 years ago ,,, update the grease is there for a reason, I cleaned with brake cleaner though all, in sprayed white lithium grea and dryer, se, so the grease is a problem and a fix
@jsauerii5 жыл бұрын
My first thought, the grease is there for a valid reason, remove it and new problem incoming soon when you wear it all down because the grease was gone.
@rafaelbeltranjr44384 жыл бұрын
@@jsauerii ..i agree, it is supposed to have Dielectric grease, or similar...

Thanks for the video! I've had this same annoying problem for a few years. Now I can fix it! Did you use any type of adhesive/RTV on the housing when reassembling?
@FishingandRacing7 жыл бұрын
I did not apply additional RTV. There was so much factory sealant left, and still soft / pliable, I did not think it was required. However, it would not hurt it you do so. I hope the fix works for you.

I took my 06 TB wiper out and the wiper assembly looked exactly like yours, but the electrical internals look completely different. The wheel has no contact to the board like yours, and the board is shaped differently and has like 100 tiny resistors and capacitors on it. When I look up the part it looks exactly like mine, can’t even find any like yours. Wish there was a known way to fix my style, cuz cleaning it did nothing and a replacement board is over 100 dollars. Smh

Good video on how to get the assembly out, but you are wrong about the grease. That is supposed to be in there.its contact grease. Very similar to what's on a horn ring.
@FishingandRacing7 жыл бұрын
Removing the grease instantly fixed my problem as detailed in the video. They work flawlessly 3 years later. Maybe just a coincidence? Who knows. I am happy, and so are many others. Thanks for the compliment though.

Why do all these videos say they will show you how to replace your back windshield wiper but none of them do there all the wiper arm it's super annoying and why don't they do a very good job of showing you that i don't understand why does he say u don't need to see what he's doing sounds so stupid wale up men show in detail and go over it a few times us women weren't taught this stuff so some of us this may even be thier first time working on a vehicle so why not go over stuff or at least do a good job of showing exactly what to do.
