Trailblazer SS Rod Knocking

Before you check your engine not to see if it's a rod bearing or lifter you should look at the flexplate all Chevy Trailblazers most all of them a crack right where the bolts are at and I think you should check the flexplate .that first and in case that it is then you'll solve your problem with a hundred bucks brand new flexplate I've seen a lot of videos to wear if it's the engine sound is more towards the back of the engine then it's probably your flexplate.

My 06 tbss is sounding just like that even down to the revving of the engine. Damn Damn....

This is the worst I had to experience on my srt 8 lucky I managed to fix it I just replaced the bearings and sanded the block it went together nice and fixed the problem temporarily who knows how long that would of lasted . I ended up trading it in for a ram .. so please always check your oil level and change oil every 3000 just to be on the safe side ...

I'm back. ha. I just bought a tbss and I have a knock..but dig this....it seems to go away when I rev the engine up. when I rev the engine, the sound doesn't get louder. I van still go up the block almost full throttle and won't hear the sound until rpms settle back down....if I hold the rpms up at say, 3500, you can't hear it. and it doesn't get drowned out by the exhaust, you just can't hear it...any input?

Same problem w mine right now. Tryin to figure out what shop to tske it to. I think it's a rod bearings for sure. Check ur flexplate tho.

It ended up being a rod #6 to be exact

Might be broken cat .. I had same problem on gto thought I had engine knock like a rod or valve ticking . I had my cats hollowed out and don't think they got all material out cut them out completely and tuned it no problem

Shit could cost you a NEW (rebuilt) engine. AutoZone charges at least $4,000!!!

What model year is this Trailblazer and how many miles were on it when you when you took this video? I am curious because my 2004 Silverado has 160k miles on it and it recently started making this exact same noise.

Keep your oil changed regularly, do NOT drive it faster than expected, go over speed bumps too quickly, or basically drive it like a sports car!!!
