Wow! Very moving and real. I already showed it to a friend from Holland who is asking similar questions about staying in the U.S.

To find your answer you may want to read what your own folk have to say during their wave of settlement in the 1850s to 1920s. The Scandinavian American is a great place to start. Plus you get the collective thoughts of other Nordic peoples who were settling together from the time when we were one country. Today in America I feel that it is a nation without borders, a free for all. The Constitutional ideals of this country are great. The American way is simple, you are a Dane as a American you remain a Dane in retrospect because you have freedom of association, you have free speech. But as demographics change it becomes complex here as you know. However I am a third generation Danskere American assimilated into American culture since birth but I still have Danish blood and DNA. I am from the Midwest and there are plenty of Nordic culture and "Scandihoovians" here. Right now the old country is more important. Danmark cannot vote itself into not being Danmark. Danmark er for Danskernes! America is for those who pay the money to influence the masses to perceive their means. In the big picture there are very few Nordic people's counting all of us collectively regardless of nationality or dialect, looking at the big picture. We should never lose sight of who we are.
