It really touched me when the elderly man said that when he was growing up, none of the children knew what grandparents were because they had all died in the Holocaust. That really brought it home that this entire community is made up of people whose parents were children during the war and survivors in one way or another.

I went to Auschwitz and Dachau with my parents when I was 6 or 7. It affected me my entire life. I understand what happened, the horrors they endured… The piles of clothes, shoes, eyeglass put in perspective how many people were stripped of everything they owned and imprisoned, forced to work until they dropped, then put in giant ovens dozens at a time. I know this sounds crazy but I learned the Nazi’s made soap from the fat of the Jews they murdered and I refused to use soap for two years until my parents finally convinced me they no longer made soap out of people. It left an indelible impression on my heart that I’ve carried throughout the last 46 years and I can’t imagine that the Jewish community doesn’t feel the terror of that this day.

There are people suffering psychologically in this, as in every, community. You might want to read/view material about the downside of this very strict structure. People can abuse the laws and rules. There are rabbis who molest children, just as some priests do. This is no more common than in every other group. It is part of human nature. Don't idealize. Sure they are kind people, calm and polite, they harm none and deserve to be respected, as anyone else. They often help people in their surroundings even if not Jewish. What I don't get is the head-shaving for women. All the ladies in the video are visibly wearing wigs made of real hair. Most hair come from East Europe where girls used to sell their hair for some money or from India where poor women donate their hair to the temple, then made up in kosher wigs called sheitel. Depends on the community. I’m in the U.S. and there’s a huge Orthodox and Ultra-Orthodox community with many different sects in Lakewood. They have kosher phones-think older style flip phones without internet and some use smart phones with limited apps or filters.
@miss0petersburgАй бұрын
Non of the families you saw in the background have tvs or phones. They have leaders in the community who have em and that’s who you saw. It’s the first time a few of them allowed to be filmed, those who are trusted in the community. I’m sure you’d love for them to not know what evil awaits outside. You don’t sound like you’re curious or even that you actually paid attention to what you watched. You didn’t see people in the back covering their faces not wanting to be on camera? Trust me, they have more discipline than any of those who judge them. You probably think they follow the tradition just so they can make a KZbin video, nuts. No surprise that you would. Most of what they do, and most of ways Jews contribute, isn’t done on video. Just like the healthcare they provide to everybody, not only Jews. The same thing in NY and other big states. Or the fact that most Muslim immigrants use Jewish refugee programs to move to the west. That’s what should matter. No other religious group provides healthcare to everyone, specially to those who hate them. The entire Jewish religion is built on being humble. And by the way, not just for women. This is why when you see a religious family, the men cover up just as much. I know it’s hard to understand that there are people who actually don’t want or care about attention and clicks. They just allowed to be filmed to educate people who are genuinely interested. And there are plenty.

Because of their behavior and devastating effect on society. For example, PornHub, OnlyFans, Tindr, Grindr, and most of the other big porn / hookup apps are Jewish-owned. I saw a woman crying after she had sex with 100 guys in a row on OnlyFans the other day - how many women have been ruined by this platform which makes huge money for its Jewish owner. Most of the satanic imagery you see in the music industry is coming from Jewish record companies. HollyWood... let's not even get started on that. Jewish people have been trying to destroy Christian values for a very long time. Not the people in this video, they believe in God and seem have wholesome values, although in Israel, it is common for Orthodox Jews to spit at Christians. A lot of Jews are fighting a war with Christianity. The early Church fathers knew about this, Martin Luther wrote an entire book about it. Even the Bible refers to the Synagogue of Satan. Christians are supposed to forgive the Jews and pray for their conversion: but not to let them destroy us.

Matthew 11:25-30 25 At that time Jesus said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent and revealed them to infants. 26 Yes, Father, because this was your good pleasure. 27 All things have been entrusted to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son desires to reveal him. 28 “Come to me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take up my yoke and learn from me, because I am lowly and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

It might be peaceful and fulfilling life for some,--especially the men, and for many others constricting and abusive. If you do not follow the strict arbitrary rules and submit to the patriarchy of it all, you will suffer the consequences: ostracism from all your friends and family and losing even your children. You might want to look into the lives of those who have left and lost everything before assuming it is all sunshine and rainbows.

I am of the opinion, ‘each to their own’ as long as it doesn’t harm others, or forced upon those who choose a different way of life. As for me, I simply don’t believe in some higher power, an all knowing, eternal deity. I believe religion was created as we cannot imagine, or cope with the fact that we are alone, that there is nothing beyond death. We live, we die, as in nature.. I think this concept frightens people, so they are soothed & made to feel safe believing that there is more beyond our mortal life on this planet. Sadly, religion as well as politics are what’s beyond almost every war Peace ✌🏻

I have a feeling that both the patriarch and matriarch of the community are enjoying their life and it looks like some of them also have had a choice in the way they live. They are well connected also outside of the community. The leading man's international travel etc, they have all these resources. This apppears to stand in vast contrast to the members of the sect who'se autonomy is incredible marginal. I'm not even talking about the kids but also adult members. They are only following and letting others lead their life, to intervene in it, they don't have any objections, they are docile, obeying and do not appear to have much of individuality etc. I get it that it's the way sects operate but it is still shocking to witness the diametrical imbalance of power in the upper and lower segments of the sect. I have a feeling that there are little resources to the followers and everything is decided for them. I think it's in contrast to the way human beings are built but that's just my opinion on the matter. I also worry about all the things which are hidden and not shown to us. Where are the disabled children? They must have a lot of genetic diseases, where are these treated and which type of treatment is there? If the boys and girls, especially girls, receive no sexual education and information, then based on what do they make their so-called 'choices' of preelected spouses? What happens if there is an unfit in bed, does the woman's pleasure even matter? What about male molestation of women? What about gennder based violence, harrassment and abuse? We were presented with the scandal about female abuser, what about the men who have much more power and access in this community?

Hi dear. I grew up in that community. Lots of good questions. There isn’t actually a strong sense of gender imbalance, more a clearly defined gender difference. The very vast majority of women do not feel subjugated or under the power of men; they value their roles as mothers and wives and derive great satisfaction from it. Genetic diseases are rare because all potential couples undergo genetic testing prior to an engagement. Happy to answer any other questions!

@xafir2816 I’m not saying it as an excuse. However, lots of people like to point out how there are criminals/ pedophiles/ murders in curtain religions. These people tend to be (but not always) religious people from other religions. I just think it’s hypocrisy gone mad as it happens in all walks of life, sadly.

In London I see this group often. They got sick in COVID and took up a whole ICU ward. There’s also huge numbers in the genetic diseases clinics because they intermarry. Sometimes a family of 6 kids has 5 affected by serious potentially fatal disorders. If they keep going it won’t end well.
@mariekatherine5238Ай бұрын
Certain groups of Muslims, Pakistanis particularly, Mormons, Amish and Mennonites have the same problem. It’s not necessarily incest, but if second cousins marry second cousins, generation after generation, from a small gene pool, couples can inadvertently end up genetically as close as immediate family. In the US, there was very little Covid among Amish, maybe because they’re rural. There has long been a problem with recessive genetic diseases and syndromes. Some communities have taken action to prevent it, others have a more fatalistic attitude, we take whatever God sends.

In case you haven't noticed there are 6 million people less for us TO marry. There are approximately 14 million of us. Worldwide. Not everyone is religious and there are different denominations within Judaism. We are an ethnoreligion, we have markers for Tay-Sachs which is VERY different than marrying your first cousins for multiple, multiple generations.
