could be worse. worst thing ive been called for was a semi that tried to do a uturn in some grass and for some reason didnt see the railroad tracks there. blew out a front tire and was stuck on the track with 1 wheel placed exactly where the lane shifter was and had bent that rod too.really had to get creative on that one since the front axle was over the shifter system and couldnt place a jack. i was just driving road assist in my little van fixing tires on all kinds of machinery. customer had just called for a tire change but when i got there it escalated to calling railway and stuff to make sure they knew we were there to prevent an accident and have rail tech come out and fix the switch system. that might have been the most pricy uturn he ever did.

I knew someone would have gotten to this before me. Most of these jacks are as advertised, but a few have some wonky differences. So far, all can be manually operated some way. The differences in my case have been the older versions before standardization I suppose. Thing is the older type are much more robust and nearly never break.

For future reference once you connect the trailer to the seven pin if you put the tow vehicle in drive so that the truck recognizes that it is there you should have power. That’s how my truck works. This should work with most newer trucks. 2018 and on.

RISKY,Hunter gets A plus for supervisor an size up. HOW EVER ,based on the lean an dry ground an the weather i would have used air bag to gently raise the frame about 2 inches at a time an add rocks ,lumber etc.under the tires ,air up the tires first ,thus bring it up to more friendly tilt. The tow truck should have been anchored first, there is no excuse for hooking on to the rear at a point of stress breaking the connection, there is no excuse for testing the tension of the tow truck cable by touching it ,could be deadly .You have air compressor if you dont have an airbag get one.THEASE are friendly observations ,i cannot afford to loose or damage either one of you, you are not replaceable, i care about you. FYI i approve this message an will take any heat it generates. live long an prosper safely.

I think you did a good job. Those trailers don’t have any good recovery points and put too much pressure on one spot and that thing will buckle. Everything is lightweight, it’s in the name of the trailer.

Paul will be proud! Great judgment calls. And I'm grateful that worked so well! I've watched several of these recoveries and I'm thinking a aluminum fabricated skidplate hydraulic jack or two under an axle might grately lessen the pull needed to drag those tires across the surface? Or lessen the probability of loosing a tire bead? Just a thought:) you guys do incedible work abs make it look fun!
