TRAILER WHEEL CAME OFF nr M6 J15 STOKE ON TRENT - POLICE CALLED

Hello and Welcome to another video!
We took a call for a job in which we were told the wheel came off a trailer, upon arrival the axle had SNAPPED, some other companies said it was needing to be LIFTED with a HIAB, well doing that on this roundabout would certainly cause some chaos!

What a great channel, just discovered it recently and now seriously addicted and binge watching it. .. now subbed. It’s the combination of how you use your common sense,integrity and professionalism when confronted with a problem in a world where many struggle defining the difference between the Arse and the Elbow.., By the way that trailer in this episode, looks like it’s constructed from a 1960’s silver cross pram held together with cellotape , plastercine and bits of Meccano…( what could possibly go wrong)..but I reckon you’ve seen it all before. Great work and total respect mate!

i attended a similar breakdown once, middle of night, country road posted at 60mph, really old home-made trailer with about 5 tons of broken concrete on the back, the tow hitch was missing, just a chain wrapped around the nose... funnily enough, nobody came to claim it...

My friend bought 3 bikes from halfords last month and had cycle rack fitted by the teenager at the desk . then she left halfords then on the M6 at preston towards the lakes the whole rack left the car in the middle lane .what a mess ,its a court case now she is looking at 6 points and a fine .

It's not teenagers but the driver in charge of motor vehicle who needs to satisfy the himself that vehicle is road worthy. Basic school physics lessons would help 😅

Just out of interest, would it not have been possible to push the trailer backwards once you put the dolly skate underneath? That way, you’d have not been at risk on the roundabout and also more visible on that bend approaching the roundabout.

Everything is possible, but its loaded, and going uphill, and cant steer it on that wheel dolly, and trailer being loaded, dont really want the old customer helping to push either really as receipe for disaster sometimes… kind of the way was done was quickest smoothest really

I dont understand why you keep calling the police/national highways for assistance when they don't even clearly help or get you in trouble instead like when they gave u 3 points and a fine, you need to just get the car on the bed and get on quickly with the job and you will stay out of trouble.

This is a very busy roundabout at m6 j15 and many accidents happen here so wasnt worth the risk, anywhere else would of been no problem. GDB

I feel that as well BUT it shows the incompetence but also shows the few good ones there are as an example of how it should be done because if 1 can do something ie close a lane, then the protocols are clearly there to do it so why is is it that others say I can’t do that when it clearly is possible and perfectly acceptable in the control room, so why is there such a deviation in what can and can’t be done? Surely it should be on paper, you can do this you can’t do that, there shouldn’t be any differences from one person to another

If you watch the channel I think you'll find he actually does a lot of recovery work without calling Police or Highways. On the "smart" Motorway tiny refuge areas it is extremely difficult to pull out into busy rush hour traffic. This puts everyone at risk of an accident especially so if the person at the end of the phone won't put up a red X instead of the non-mandatory move over arrow. Perhaps the relevant government minister needs to try being stranded in such circumstances and see how they feel?
