Nice clean install! If you are going to do something, do it right the first time. The 3d printed piece was a very nice touch.

I have a white 2024 Sport, that I put a lot of miles for work.. it’s crazy how much the engine has loosened up- runs totally different from new. 2025 hybrid looks nice, but I’m jaded, I think the Sport w the black moldings and rims looks great.. Love the channel

Can’t get a hybrid or any new civic in the lineup (besides si) with a manual transmission so I’m sticking with this car for many years to come , it’s the last of its breed

I used to have a new white 2024 hatch sport 6 MT as well, drove it from 5 miles all the way to 4.5K miles. I would've liked to keep it if it wasn't for the low quality or maybe defective rough synchros in the transmission that made the driving experience very unpleasant. I had a coworker who enjoys driving his 2022 Mazda MX-5 6MT quite a bit ( he even relocated to a workplace a little bit farther from where he lives just so that he could drive the car a little more) and the manual transmission in that car is very engaging and fun to drive, the opposite was the case with the new 2024 Civic Hatch sport I had.

That’s unfortunate to hear. I will say my transmission has only gotten smoother with time. I’m almost at 10k miles now and the trans is fantastic

Correct, just need to remove the bumper, lights can stay on the car

As always thanks for all the great content on this rare model. BTW what has your average mpg come out to be with the car?
@NAUS2K2 ай бұрын
Average MPG for my first 10k miles is about 30 mpg. This is with very little highway, and lots of towing recently 😁
@cmbiker2 ай бұрын
@@NAUS2K That's great to hear. I'm averaging about 27 mpg with about 50% highway and 50% local streets in Queens, NY. I wonder if the local streets are holding me back from averaging closer to 30 or above.

I installed an equivalent CURT model in my '19 Fit EX MT6, as I occasionally tow a small open-frame utility trailer with it. I bought the Civic version also, but only to get the pass-through lightbulb harnesses. With them, I was able to install VLEDs VLR-6 resistors without cutting any OEM wires. Kind of wasteful, I know. For rear turn signals, I'm using Philips Extreme Ultinon LED T20 Amber WY21 I imported from Japan many years ago. I even have a couple of spares.

I just bought a hitch to install on my 8th gen si. Got any tips for possible tire specs, and suspension before towing? My plan is to tow a tent trailer, and possibly a 1000 litre tote filled partway with water (1500lbs).
@NAUS2K2 ай бұрын
No real secrets to tire pressure or anything when towing with a class 1 hitch. Just run the normal pressures you run. Don’t exceed the rated 200 lbs of tongue weight on the ball. Shoot to have 10% of total trailer weight on the ball (150lbs is your rig is 1500 lbs). I’d say 1500lbs is definitely pushing it for an 8thgen Si, I don’t doubt it can be done but you’ll have to be easy on that clutch from a stop, and leave a bunch of room with cars in front to make sure you can get slowed down in time. If you plan on towing 1500lbs then consider your weight and any extra weight you plan on having in the car too. You’ll definitely be exceeding the vehicle GVWR
@le.farquad6082 ай бұрын
@@NAUS2K Thank you. The tote would just be hauled around my acreage to water my berry bushes and such. I don’t plan on taking that to the roads. The camper trailer is the one i’ll be taking on road trips. Thank you for the advice good sir. Very much appreciated
@NAUS2K2 ай бұрын
I see no problems with your plan ! Enjoy my friend. I had an 8thgen civic setup to tow, the wiring for the trailer lights on an 8thgen is about 1000x easier than this install. Check out the video on my channel !

The big hole where you removed the Gromit that the Kurt plug will not pass through; did you think about simply elongating the right and left side of that round hole with a Dremel to clear the plug? From what I could see, it wouldn't take a lot of the material to remove and the Gromit would go back in the hole. If you did have to elongate it too much just simple 3M caulking could fix that issue. Of course I am not there and I'm not the one doing this, but I just thought it was a workaround. As for your car, I tried for over four months to buy one without any success. Probably now the Civic sport manual transmission model is nonexistent.

New ones are still showing up at Vegas local dealers. I see a black one just got allocated. Looks like there are 5 in the Vegas area as of today.

Thats not a bad idea and probably would have worked, however I really wanted to not modify any part of the body and expose raw steel, yes I could have painted the area but was pinched on time as it was to do this install. Tough to get these kind of things done with a 2 and 3 year old running around 🤣
@CaptainFalcon923 ай бұрын
uh. why you cut these when you can depin-repin the connectors ?
@NAUS2K3 ай бұрын
The bundle on the drivers side would have needed more than just depinning with the way the wiring looped to each connector. That and the fact you can’t depin the flat 4 connector the trailer plugs into , reconnecting everything with the soldering shrink tube was very quick and easy
