A lot of insight in this video, thanks for uploading. I think your channel swayed me into getting a 2024 civic sport vs a 2024 Mazda 3 2.5S

Your videos and appreciation of the Civic platform inspired me to get a 2025 Civic Si. Awesome videos man, makes me happy to see someone else loving their cars and keeping stick shift alive just a little bit longer. I hope my Civic lasts long enough to teach my kids Manual on.

I've owned 4 civics and towed up to 1000 lbs with every one of them without a problem. The key as you say is to have a manual transmission and be gentle with the clutch. I have never had to replace a clutch. Not certain if it would be wise to tow with a cvt, it may even void the warranty. And yes I also manage fine without a truck. I always enjoy your videos and attention to detail. Cheers

its not only the clutch and breaks that are stressed more, a main componet is the gearbox oil, cars that come with trailor connection from factory usualy have a bigger oil cooler. Gears are crazy effective like ~99% but that also means if a Power of 100kw runs through 3 gear pairs the gearbox is permanently heated with 3kw. I worked on testing rigs at university and was truly astonished how much heat a even a small gearbox can produce.

Cars that come with a factory trailer hitch and wiring these days are all automatic. They need trans coolers as the torque converter and the transmission itself generates a lot of heat when hauling more weight. For a manual transmission everything is very simple. Manual transmission vehicles don’t even come with transmission coolers because they don’t generate near the heat and automatic does. Even in track applications where manual transmission vehicles see extreme temps , most don’t have any additional cooling on a manual. There is no slipping, no massive increase in friction, it’s not necessary

Dang that four wheeler is clean

Drove 4 hours for it . 2007 Rincon 680 with 50 hours and 480 miles on it. Absolute gem. Added a seat belt to the box seat in the back and my kids absolutely love it. So worth it !

I just put a hitch on my 2019 sport. Pulled a small 4'x4' trailer with single motorcycle rail and Yamaha YZ250x. Mine is CVT sedan. Seems fine, but bike is only 230lbs. My trailer is about 1/2 size yours, 12" wheels i believe.

Oh I had to remove center exhaust and make it a single round exhaust with a bent pipe, clamps, and chrome tip from Amazon. Looks fine.

I've always wanted a small truck, but since they won't let us have one, I just pull a small open-frame trailer with my 2019 Fit EX MT6. I rarely use it, but it costs almost nothing to register (under $50 for 2 years) and no additional insurance is required in my state. Last time I used it was to haul two one-piece toilets from Home Despot (sic). The insanely low loading height is fantastic. What's funny is, my Fit has more engine braking than my 2024 Civic Sport Hatch MT6.

Oops, I meant 3 years, not 2 years! I actually forgot how long it was. 😅

Yeah I hope to fix the engine braking on this car with Ktuner. Cool to hear about your fit! I actually registered this trailer in Maine through Maine trailer registrations dot com. 5 years was $100 and no inspections required or anything. Plate came within a week or so. Awesome experience

Very interesting video! Does it feel like the car is dragging something heavy or does it feel like it's just a car full of people? (Hopefully that makes sense)
@NAUS2K3 ай бұрын
You can definitely feel it back there. But it feels perfect adequate to pull that amount of weight.

4:55 tires?
@NAUS2K3 ай бұрын
Adding less than 200lbs tongue weight on the rear will probably have a negligible affect on tire wear
@Grafyte3 ай бұрын
@NAUS2K Fair but depending on how you drive that trailer will have negligible impact on clutch or bike wear.

For 2025 Honda will no longer be offering a K20C2 Otto cycle port injected engine on the sport and will offer the new K20C9 Direct Injected Atkinson cycle engine with less power (150 HP). Honda will not offer a 6 MT on the sport for 2025.

Yeah I covered this in a recent video. Maybe I’ll make an update video with more thoughts of mine, end of an era for Honda
