Hello Alastair , again Nice review, I love these shoes, I have the futurelight version ❤ Question.... Do you think these ones are good for technical rocky terrain ? D+ French Alpes? Im thinking of buying the normal version of these ones for summer 🎉 🌞

Nice review 👌 I have those shoes (futurelight version) and they are awesome 😎 I just made an ultra trail with them and they worked extremely good in differents conditions. After 300 km (training and races) the outsole its there hard as a rock and like "untouchable". Love what TNF are doing with the trail series. Looking forward for the same in the classic version and the off trail series 🎉

Thank you! And thanks for sharing how you’ve been getting on with them - so great to hear that’s you’ve been getting on so well with them! I’m excited to try more trail shoes from TNF! 👌🏼

Looks comparable to the Catamount 3… but heavier. I don’t need 5mm lugs so I think I will still buy the Catamount. Thanks for introducing us to another good value (not overpriced) shoe!

Spot on - I put it right behind the catamount 3! Both great shoes. www.trailandkale.com/roundups/best-trail-running-shoes-buyers-guide/

Have you ran in the Mafatee Speed 4s? If so, how do these compare for comfort? The MS4s pinch my little toe and lead to little toe blisters after my last 100 miler. Looking for something with similar squish, energy return but better fitting and with a more obvious rocker for trotting over flatter sections. Would love to hear your thoughts!

I have! Here’s my review: www.trailandkale.com/shoe-reviews/hoka-mafate-speed-4-review/ - both are super comfy and both are great trail shoes. I think you’ll love these as they do have a similar fit but a bit more roomy in the toe box.

Hi Alastair, How are you? First of all, thank you for the review! I would like to know if the shoes give you balance while going downhill (running) or if they are a little bit unstable because of the response. Maybe you cleared that on the video, but as there are many technical terms and english is not my native language, could you clear that out for me, please? Again, thank you the review, it helped a lot.

Hey there! Glad the review helped! The midsole gives good balance and stability (the plate helps), but the upper could offer better support in my opininon. It's still a fantastic all mountain trail running shoe though! I like the look of the shoe & your review. My go to at the moment is the Tomir 2.0, which share some similarities.. Can I state the obvious as in the focus in this video is distracting. You should be able to fix that with a smaller aperture (& higher iso). That way at least the AF hunting would be less noticable.

Thank you! I'll do better

Would be great if they had incorporated their Dream foam in this. I really like the feel of that in the Altamesa 500. Weight is kind of high for a low stack shoe in today's market.
@trailandkale2 ай бұрын
Yeah that would be dreamy! I think the weight must be from the outsole and upper. I’d love to see some weight shaved off for the next version be TNF have done a great job with these

@@trailandkale They seem to be doing really well with their entry into the running sector. Thanks for your reviews. I enjoy them immensely.
Looks really good. Might replace my speedgoat 5s with this

Hi watched alot of your reviews thank you for them. I'm looking for a all purpose trail shoe for training and to complete 33km race. I have a flat foot, with special insoles for that so i do have to test every shoe before buying. Gel nimbus fit well. What are your recommendations for trail shoes? Tried speedgoat 6 doesnt fit me at all.
@trailandkale2 ай бұрын
Thank you! Was the speedgoat to right on you? Just trying to get a better understanding as to what may fit better. These ones are great by the way. Other great performers in the all-mountain category include these: www.trailandkale.com/roundups/best-trail-running-shoes-buyers-guide/ -Alastair

@@trailandkaleThank you for the repsonse. Speedgoats were too narrow on the fore foot. Same issues with salomons. Kiger 9 seems to be an ok fit.

Try the Brooks Catamount 3! I think you’ll love the fit, and they’re awesome. I’ve reviewed them on the channel. -A

I tried it on wet technical terrain, traction was not good. Vibram is better.

As soon as it rains here, I’ll give them a solid wet trail test and stick any observations to the top of the comments.
