Thanks for the review I'm planning on trying to beat the cutoffs on my first 50k in march and first 50mi in April. At 6'3 220lbs i could use a bit more cushion for all those miles. Going to try these out

Appreciate the detailed review. Haven't had the greatest time with the Brooks trail line, actually had to return a couple of 'em, but with the updates in some key areas I was having problems with in the previous iterations I'm more inclined to give this latest version a fair shot. Your review has helped inform that decision. Thank you 👍🏽

I am so sorry about Kepler. I am glad he is recovering. I was warned about fox tails few years ago and now I am always obsessing in areas of any fox tail and any similar grasses because mine is part Pointer and part Mountain Cur, so her nose is to the ground constantly. It is amazing how such a tiny speck of it can cause serious life threatening situation for the dog when gets inhaled into nares or throat. Sending good vibes towards Kepler.

Thank you! He is now fully recovered, thankfully ❤️🩹 I think it’s important that more dog owners know about the dangers of those pesky grasses.

I loved the Caldera 6, particularly on smooth wet rocks. They gripped where no other compound, including megagrip, was able to. The only downside was the two-part upper fell apart out on the trails one day. They fixed that with stitching in the 7 which is great. But I was gutted to discover the outsole rubber has changed on the 7 and it is no longer any good on wet rocks. They're great on all other surfaces, but if you're running anywhere wet, including downhill wet grass, be very careful. Strictly summer shoes only.

Good to know, thanks! I’ll give them a try as soon as we see some rain over here

@conoro how long did the caldera 6 last? I'm looking for something durable.
@conoro4 ай бұрын
@@ishita1156The Caldera 6 upper has the problem above. Apart from that, the midsole is very durable and the outsole is decently long-lasting too, if you don't do too much road to trail. You should easily get 300+ miles on the trails. They've been great in ultras.

Hi. I am interested in city shoes in the summer. The main conditions are: 1. Durability/strength. 2. Comfort 3. Not narrow So far I am choosing between Brooks Caldera 7, Reebok Runner 4 4E and Columbia Konos™ TRS Shoe. What do you recommend?

can it be used on road and still will be good ? because im kinda hybrid runner and i am looking for a shoe to buy
@trailandkale3 ай бұрын
I mean you could… however, the tread will run down faster on road surfaces but the ride is very nice on the roads too. I have to run some road to get to my trails so I was able to test that out. It’s not designed to be a road to trail shoe (its more tailored to being a great trail shoe). Here are my favourite road to trail shoes that may suit you better scroll down to the road to trail section on this roundup): www.trailandkale.com/gear/best-trail-running-shoes-buyers-guide/

They have a spacious toe box and are quite voluminous but they’re not wide. More info on fit here: www.trailandkale.com/shoe-reviews/brooks-caldera-7-review/

Currently i have altra olympus 5, but i want to buy another one. Which one is better caldera 7 or olympus 5?
@trailandkale2 ай бұрын
I haven't reviewed the Olympus 5 yet. That one would be a zero drop shoe. I can tell you this one is really good though

@trailandkale4 ай бұрын
I mean you could use them for road running but there are much better options. With Brooks, I’d recommend the Ghost Max instead.
