One of the best recap at SEMA 2023 of the assortment of vehicles and accessories. Great job. It would most likely take a minimum of five film crews for one KZbin channel to film a walk around some of the well built rock crawlers and overloading vehicles. Nice work and thanks for sharing.

Brad, I have to call out one item because it can relate to trail access in some states and parks. On the Rivian, you showed a trailer with what you called electric bikes. Those look like electric motorcycles, which are not allowed on typical single track off-road bicycle trails. I work with a group in Missouri that deals with trail access. The distinction between bicycle and motorcycle, at this point, is pedal assist. If a bike has pedal assist then it’s an E bike. If it doesn’t have pedals, or it has a motor that doesn’t require pedaling, then it’s a motorcycle. This is an important distinction, because many trails do not allow motorized vehicles. Understanding what you have will help us all maintain access to our trails. Thanks so much for the great content!

Thanks for the tour, Brad. FYI - International did have a 392 V-8 gas engine "back in the day". Put them in Scouts, pick-ups, Travel-alls, and Big trucks. They got TERRIBLE mileage in all of them!!!!
@TrailRecon10 ай бұрын
Oh I didn't know that, thank you for the intel!
@backwoodstherapy10 ай бұрын
Maybe you can trade that 392 for the new GX. A luxurious, comfortable Overlander that can get you in 90% of places a Wrangler can. You already have the JK as a rock crawler, and you'd be the first big KZbinr to have the GX out on the trail. And it also solves your problem of all the 392s reliability problems. Also costs about the same.

@TrailRecon10 ай бұрын
SEMA isn’t about showcasing affordable products and it isn’t like an overland expo where you can go out and buy the gear you see. It’s a trade show where manufacturers highlight and debut new innovations by building out a variety of vehicles. At SEMA, just about all of the builds are extreme and over the top.

What is sad for Rivian is the way how the electric motor on each wheel is interrupted by programming causing power losses resulting in jerky crawls, there is no consistent power delivery as 4x4 provides with pedal controlled throttle and locked 4x4, maybe Rivian addressed that already or it will be later

I’ve been subscribed to your channel for around 18 months now after watching so many of your travels as we were locked up (Toronto area). I really wanted to get a Jeep Gladiator Rubicon Jan 2022, but just couldn’t afford it with high MSRPs and dealer mark ups (by adding accessories). I did look at a Bronco Sasquatch, but pricing again, plus wait times, plus quality issues kept me away. I ended up ordering a 4Runner TRD Off Road and waited 6 months for it (got it below MSRP). Even though your channel is Jeep focussed, I still really enjoy your channel, both content and quality (video and sound). Nice to see you looking at products that I can use on mine.
