Hence no Rubicon required as I don't need the 4:1 case, the sway bar or the diffs. Only going 37/38" tires. But never thought of the LongArm kit but will lift 4" only. Ive had 40s on my stock axles since 2021. 30k miles and no issues. They are strong. I ordered my gladiator with the max tow package & installed 5.38s and eaton e lockers. I did truss & gusset the front axle since its a 3 piece.
@backwoodstherapy2 ай бұрын
If you truss and gusset them, are they really “stock?”
@fty-ys4ni2 ай бұрын
@@backwoodstherapy He also changed the gear ratio. Definitely not stock.
@Tinker35042 ай бұрын
@@backwoodstherapypersonally my viewpoint is that since a truss and gusset kit is a couple hundred bucks, it’s much closer to stock than a 10k axle upgrade. Chiming in as another guy with the identical axle build as this guys, with the same trail grappler 40’s but KMC beadlocks(so similar enough). No issues with my spicer 5.38 gears and I definitely run MUCH harder than this dude that doesn’t have a scratch on his skid plates and can get away with running a single piece rear driveshaft. I’ve yet to see a JL/JT d44 bend or break when built like this. When I do maybe I’ll consider a 60 🤷🏻♂️ “Stock” is all relative. Go price a one ton axle with lockers at any distributor (east coast gear supply/northridge/etc…). A re-enforced 44 is substantially closer to “stock” in terms of cost yet arguably as strong or stronger than an actually stock semi-float 60. If not as strong, at least very close. There are no 1:1 tests recorded, so is perception reality? Maybe. Lots of us on built 44’s not broken and an extra 5k+ per axle in our pockets.

I would have to respectfully disagree with him about the 3.6L not being a good supercharger host. Taking it from 212HP at the rear tire to over 300HP is a benefit in my opinion. I was at SEMA 2021 and saw the Magnuson booth and they had a JL and JT both supercharged. They put a lot of time into the design, engineering and lengthy testing into their kit for the 3.6L Pentastar. Just like any vehicle that you modify, there are going to be challenges and upgrades that go in conjunction with the modification(s). You can run 38s on stock Dana 30 and 44 axles, people do it all the time. But it will come at a cost, and we all know that the parts that will commonly break or wear out will need to be replaced frequently or upgraded to stronger more reliable parts. The same thing can be said for a supercharger. Most kits offer the bare minimum to get it installed but upgrades such as; the fuel pump, replacing the factory evap canister, the oil cooler under the manifold, cooling system upgrades etc. etc.. All of us who still have a Pentastar motor know all the common issues with a stone stock motor, so adding a supercharger will come with some expected upgrades and those issues will surface if not addressed. There are good supercharger kits out there like Magnuson and Eldebrock and there are horrible kits like RIPP. Just like any Jeep modification you have to weigh the pros and cons and land somewhere in the middle. Sorry for the long winded post. But all in all his Gladiator build is incredible! Can't wait to see what he does for the next project. Thank you for sharing!

When I purchased a new Jeep Gladiator Rubicon in 2021, everyone said I was waisting my money on a Cold Air Intake. I did a lot of research and purchased the Volant Cold Air Intake. It came with the performance filter and my power and fuel economy increased. The sound was amazing. Last week after putting 36,365 miles on it The Gladiator was trouble free and was excellent. My only problem was it took up a lot of space in in our new Home. It came with a extra large garage, but limited space for all my tool boxes. I did automotve for 30 years. So last week a friend of mine at the local dealership said the owner ordered their self a special ordered Jeep Wrangler Rubicon X that included the Extreme upgrade. The new Jeep was built late in August 2024 and the MSRP was $74,246. I got it for $61,674. They gave my $36,000 for my Gladiator and I bought that day!!! I miss the Gladiato because it was a real truck, but I now have 3ft of additional room. I had thought about the 2025 but the only way to buy it with auto. Trans is to get the 2 liter turbor!! The 2024 drives great and it may be my last new vehicle as I just turned 76. Still have good health!! I did spend 9 years in the Military as I was drafted in 1969 and drove many Jeeps as I was a MP.
