A scene that's happened since the first train couldn't make it up a grade, timeless. Saw it happen several times on Byron hill on the old SOO main south of Fond du Lac when helpers weren't available. Gritty video, liked it much. Thanks JT!

That was a great video on how they cut the train to make it lighter to get up the grade. Didn't think they were going to get started with all that wheel slipping, but they did.. I don't think they filled the sanders, didn't see any sand coming out to help with traction. Really glad you stayed till the entire process was completed.. Thanks Mr. JawTooth

Love it Brian and Jesse....! A man and his dog, nothing better.... He should have gotten a little better run at that hill Brian.... I mean he had two units and not that many cars, albeit all loads... What we would do on a yard job like that was to cut the power off and go up the hill sanding the rail and then come back down and grab the cut.... I didn't see any sand on that rail when you got over by the crossing and she was picking up her wheels, slipping ....Anyway, great video buddy... Give Jesse a pet for me...! "Smoke Em"...Greg

Even older - a B36-7 built in 1985 according to the "DieselHouse" site. CCET has 2 of these 3600hp beasts with one running. #5895 is on the property but doesn't appear to be running at present. They also have a GE B23-7, but this one is listed as a "parts source" for the other GE's.
