Nice old good video, I liked it a lot :) So I would like to ask, if you set cruise control to some speed and you select lower speed afterwards, will the train apply brakes to match desired speed? As for I have heard from French discussions about Alstom locomotives in such case should be applied only electrodynamic brake unlike with German AFB or Czech ARR. Does it work in such way? I also notice using solely dynamic brake (EDR) is quite rare in Netherlands, are those brakes weak are have some drawbacks makimg them pointless to use? Thanks in advance for clarification and I wish you calm service during corona-madness 😇

Thanks! Cruise control uses dynamic brakes too slow down if needed. You can also use only edr manually without the disk brakes, but it does not brake as well and you cannot come to a full stop. If you apply brakes using the brake lever (which you normally do), the engine only uses edr untill some point when more braking power is needed. You always need to use ar least one step of the brake lever to satisfy the ATB (safety system that monitors speed). I often do that and use more edr if needed so prevent noise from the brake disks. I mostly use edr when going down a hill.

Jeroen Laus Is inderdaad cruise-control, ik meende dat de meester het zo uitlegde: Een klikje van je af is ED-rem, een klikje naar je toe is tractie en nog een klikje naar je toe is cruise-control.

Meester? Heeft u gister dienst gedaan? (Zaterdag 21-10) Op trajecten RTD-BD/BD-TB/HRT-NM-AH-DV-ZW/ZW-Lelystad/Lelystad-ZW/ZW-AMF-Duivendrecht? Ik heb namelijk op deze trajecten gereist.

Weer een heel lekker gekeken bij deze intercity dienst! had je met vertraging vertrokken in Amersfoort? zag de sprinter richting Harderwijk na Putten zien wachten op jou! je had best wel de max op de snelheid gehouden. Merk dat er vaker DDZ's worden ingezet tussen Utrecht en Groningen, echt wel lekkerder dan die korter ICM.

Inderdaad. Als je tijdens het remmen tractie geeft, werken de motoren omgekeerd. Scheelt slijtage.
