Aesthetic is more so based upon body fat % and genetics, an 185 pound 8% bf powerlifter with good genetics is going to look shredded

These are men who use 300-400KG just to *warm up* and during the competition are lifting 450-500+KG for leg challenges and about half that at least for arms. They are monsters. But they all look overweight instead of muscular. Now compare to body builders who lift far lighter weights but look like hercules.

I was thinking the same thing. Even for advanced lifters and athletes this is basically the most soreness/DOMS inducing thing you can do for arms. No amount of massaging is going help.

Focusing on isolating arms, getting them stronger for 2-3 months busted me over my bench press plateau. Don't underestimate arm strength, u use your arms in every upper body lift (other than maybe scapular stability exercises) so getting them stronger will translate into improving athletic performance exercise. Work them 3x/wk (HARD) for 2-3 months and u'll find your arms get used to the DOMS and start to recover faster, your grip strength will increase as well and we all know how important grip strength is.

I LOVE the idea of having a partner hold ur arms down while doing curls. Its an ideal resistance that can change depending on how strong you are at that given moment. They're the spotter and the weight. I thought that was hella cool, and i wonder how hard it is to try and hold elliot back from curling lol. Looked like they both got a workout from it haha.
