Compared many other train travel related channels you give a lot of good details about everything. I learnt a lot about bankers only today. So far we were thinking that it’s only there to give extra push on the uphill section. Never knew the other functions.

I consider myself lucky to have seen two transitions - Steam to Diesel and now the slow phasing out of Diesels and 100 percent Electric. Nice to hear a chugging ALCO

One interesting fact about the Aryankavu tunnel (subject to correction) - one of the few places I know where u end up from one side of western ghats onto the other side while exiting!!

The MG era 13 arch brick masonry bridge is not the same anymore in terms of its look, after BG strengthening. Also the MG Edapalayam station was a tranquil halt in the midst of a teak forest; wonder how it looks now.

Sir, That track climbing the hill at Bhagvatipuram is an catch siding & is Main line track. All trains towards Sengottai should mandatory halt at Bhagvatipuram Home to Prove Brake power or if uncontrollable will directly move to Main line Catch siding. After requisite time points with switch to either PF1 or 2 both being Loop lines. There is no Green Proceed at Bhagvatipuram Home towards Sengottai. Similar arrangements at Edamann Home towards Punalur.

That seems like a pointless exercise. Both Bhagavathipuram and Edamann are at the ends of a ghat section. Whats the point in proving brake power at this point?

That is the old MG alignment for sure - I remember traveling that way during MG days. Perhaps it is a back-up catch siding, but the mandatory brake test there makes no sense.

Coach length was limited due to security reasons. Land erosion was reported during monsoons and this necessitated this precaution. Now SR has asked RDSO for a review and appropriate modifications will be made to increase coach length again.

Nice vlog. Note that all the block stations in puu sct section can stable 21 coaches while in srr nil section all the stations can stable only 14 coaches. Pgt division is sleeping on this aspect.

All the stations on the SRR-NIL station are being upgraded to hold more coaches. It is an unfair comparison as well. SRR-NIL is a branch line, while QLN-PUU-SCT is NOT.
