The steam train in Derail Valley is pretty good. Being in VR you physically shovel coal and manage the train controls. Bit more difficult as you also have too maintain pressure and firebox temp. It's a lot of work and going uphill can be challenging. I often ran out of steam pressure.

A few things to take away from this; 1) how gorgeous does that train look? 2) Bambi got lucky 3) SEAN BEAN!!!

So glad I watched this. I was struggling to get the thing to move. Lol. I think I'll give this first one a shot now I know how it works a bit better. I swapped my Circle and Square buttons in the controls so that the handbrake/emergency Brake was Square as I kept pressing it when backing out of Menus. I think that then messed up the controls for the scenario as I think Square was then the button it uses to do the things from outside the train. May need to change it back when doing the scenario. Either way, great video TinTin! Also, I enjoy your voice 😁

I have'nt tried the steam yet, not long started with the game. Will give it ago and let you know how I got on.

I really like the orient Express sounds and looks as they are really impressive. My only main complaint is that I am still not a big fan of the connecting rod and valve gear system on the main rods to the driving wheels and the way it rotates, very unnatural looking compared to a normal real-life 4-6-4. The locomotive not being in career mode is another major flaw and would have been more worth the price point in my opinion. Other than that, I really like this overall. Nice video as well.

Thanks mate. Yes the true detailed experience for steam is of course Spirit of Steam for TSW, but for an arcade version, this isn't too bad. I agree that it would have been awesome to operate a service mode for the OE. It could almost have been a game of it's own done properly.

I've seen other players run out of coal very quickly was that something that's been amended?

Was that on the really long runs as I haven’t done one of those yet so could still be an issue

@@TinTin_57 I don't know It was either a miss management of coal or a usage bug but I saw in a video that the player went below 50% coal with out even moving

Big patch this week. The bugs are there but they are not major. If it’s on sale then go for it, it’s certainly playable and really enjoyable. I have about 90hrs on it so far

I bought it a few days ago and am really enjoying. They have done a lot of work fixing the game and it's improved. Only major problem i had is when doing the tutorials the game crashed a few times but so far in the normal part doing the career it hasn't crashed at all so it must just be the tutorials that are bugged. otherwise bugs have been rare nothing game breaking and i think it will keep improving.
