Train Low-Mid Level Combat at Scurrius | OSRS XP Guide

OSRS has a new, mid level boss Scurrius. Scurrius is good for practicing PvM and for training your Combat Stats since you get solid XP/hr. Scurrius can be used to train your Melee, Ranged, and Magic on OSRS.

I recommend doing public instances till the mace if you get some higher level friend you can the mace in an hour.

I am not the target player base for this boss, but I did 98-99 Str here and it absolutely flew by. ~130k xp/hr. Highly recommend for learning boss mechanics as well

You say that because this will incentivize just training here for faster combat xp instead of doing slayer?

I hear that. I guess that’s just the choice mid level accounts will have to make. A lot of people would probably prefer to get stronger and power through those slayer levels faster with higher attack stats

​​​​​@@henrychen253doesnt seem like that became an issue. the same people who wont do slayer (crabbers) wont touch a boss that is more effort than an average task, and NMZ is still better xp i think and has the utility of imbues. I think it is a good option to mix things up and have a chance for a neat pet

Dude I've been grinding nmz for baae 80 combat stats I wish I knew this was like, as good as nmz. Def finishing ranged and defense at scurrius

So what are the melee xp rates at 94+ Strength with with a Bone Mace? is it better than the roughly 135-145k xp/hr one might see at the NMZ with a Rapier?

Scurrius is not meleeing at last phase so no need for protect for melee there.

Protect from Melee still reduces the damage taken from the Giant Rat Spawns though

Got my first kill with base 50 combat stats and a rune scimmy with 46 prayer. Just prayer flick. This boss is meant to learn these types of mechanics.

Didn’t even have to watch the video to agree. Went from 86 to almost 89 att within 75 kills

Damn that's pretty quick for nearly 90 attack as well. It's not just good for low to mid levels. Scurrius is dope

Maybe this is just the ironman brain but I feel like stat boosting prayers aren't all that worth it. At the intended levels the bone weapons provide a flat bonus not affected by stats. You can have much cheaper kills with not a much longer kill time. Boosting potions are still worth it I'd say

I guess it’s more so for noobs than for low levels. I can just go burst or cannon or mace in the wild and go get much better xp/hr. Or even with magic, that’s the same xp as Alching

Bursting and Cannoning is also more expensive, and doesn't teach you a thing about PvM. Bursting and Cannoning are very valid training methods, but I highly suggest low level players spend some time actually fighting bosses as well.

Alching wont give you hp or def XP, you get profit instead. Cannoning is expensive.
