Love those overheads! The sound of power when that train is climbing the grade :) A single lead engine usually means at least one DPU on those longer trains and we got 2 plus an end DPU - all working hard!

Awesome catches of trains working downhill and uphill. That uphill train was really working hard with double DPUS growling and chugging and also a rear manned helper doing the same , that was pretty cool. Neat little location by that pedestrian bridge, great shot of that hard working uphill train from overhead as well. Thanks for sharing JT, just be safe out there son.👍🏼

Thank you, for another video in Crescent Springs, Kentucky, Jaw Tooth! I gather that this location is one of your favorite locations based on the number of times you have been here. The trains coming down the hill must burn off a lot of the brake pads on the car wheels. I wonder if it would help to have an additional engine on the front of the train to provide additional braking power. That southbound train coming up the hill was a long train and needed the two mid-train DPUs plus the manned helper at the end of the train.

In the 1st train, you got your NS AC44C6M, and the SD70ACe. On the 2nd train, NS ES44AC, Union Pacific SD70ACe, and the NS SD70ACe. The 3rd train, UP C45ACCTE, DPU’s NS ES40DC And ES44AC And UP C45ACCTE. The locomotive that was running Engine light was a C45AH.

Get some ARNICARE gel for your knee. It’s in the same area as Icy hot in the store. I tore my rotator cuff in two places in May 2020. No surgery because of Covid. Yesterday I saw 202 cars handled by 1 on point and 1 mid-train DPU, you can tell how flat the former NYC Water Level Route is with that little power.
