About 13 years ago... I boarded a HST (what was National Express East Coast at that time) which was going to St.Pancras from Wakefield Westgate. It was a very early train... I had no idea of the East Coast Mainline at that time because I had just moved to Yorkshire... Didn't know it was a rare movement until I tried to get back from St.Pancras to Wakefield.

Mega, have you heard of the 04:27 London St Pancras - Sheffield? Infamously known as "The Shag Express", it was used often by "Ladies of the Night" to get home from a hard night.😅

I seen a review of first class just like your standard Hitachi like LNER , USB ports and plugs in the usual space. Cups are plastic for your drinks even in first class. Food offering not as good as other companies .

Interesting thing about your video, one I know what day you travelled on as I was on 222014 and I may have seen you go past whilst recording, but 2nd thing is On the day due to a signaller error your train came on platform 2 and blocked the EMR train in. The EMR train behind was meant to leave at 12:05 but instead left 21 mins late due to basically waiting for the Hull Trains to leave at 12:21.

Hi , Here’s a my thoughts an in my opinion only, LNER 1st class is best when the staff are available sometimes they do get short staffed and limited food on first class. Your video you had real cup with your drink compare to another video seen on this very service. So maybe Hull trains no bad as a first thought ? I will need to try this service if am I ever down this way? There is Advanti that offers a full Menu on weekdays East Coast Mainline travellers may have better experience that LNER? My favourite line is still East Coast Mainline. Great content.

So what happened to all the class 60s? For that many to be left to rust is a bit sad can't they be scrapped in anyway for other train parts or still used for shunting/freight?

They’re not powerful enough, but I think a lot of them have been stripped for parts anyway

When Kings X is closed for works they have gotten permission from Network Rail to divert their trains via the midland main line (which they join just after Doncaster) into St Pancras. This makes sense as Kings X and St Pancras are pretty much next to eachother and they share a tube stations so passengers end up in the same place regardless. Hope that helps👍🏾
