A bit of a slow start, but she gets there eventually.

Wow, it's a real shame none of the MR Class F7s survived into preservation, they were truly magnificent engines.

Very nice. I love how you included the "Cedar rapids" observation car on the rear of the F7 Hiawatha hudson's train, because I imagined if a new build F7 hudson (like PRR T1 trust) can have Cedar rapids on the rear of the Hiawatha excursions. I counted 13 coaches. If the MSTS F7 can pull 13 cars, so can a new build Milwaukee Road F7 hudson locomotive!

This is a fun video! Anyone who wants to see this great train run again, like this comment. Next, go right away and get behind the Coalition for Sustainable Rail (CSR) project to rebuild the last remaining high speed Hudson type engine in the world. Yes, gentlemen, there IS ONE LAST HUDSON REMAINING. Built within a year of the Milwaukee road F7 steam loco and with specs that virtually mirror those of that engine (yes 84 inch drivers!), Santa Fe 3463 is the best candidate to showcase the attributes of these high-speed passenger service engines. CSR has even vowed to attempt to top the 126 mph speed record upon completion of the restoration of this loco. I propose that, being the last such engine, friends of the Milwaukee Road 261 and those interested in the history of the NYC Dreyfuss J3a petition for time with this loco. Perhaps an interchangeable linkage for attaching a Milwaukee road and/or Dreyfuss shroud could be engineered so that each area could see their favorite Dreyfuss Hudson reenacted in it's own running dress. Find more details at csrail.org/3463 Now GO SUPPORT THIS PROJECT, THE LAST CHANCE TO A SEE HIGH SPEED HUDSON RIDE THE HIGH RAIL IN YOUR LIFETIME!

And another thing...This is pretty accurate. Milwaukee's was the fastest steam engine ever built. Period. For those that think this engine was just a "knock-off" of the CN&W E4 (because they looked the same and were both built by ALCO), here are some interesting numbers... (from @t database) Milwaukee Road F7 CN&W E4 LNER Mallard the "fastest" steam locomotive Robert LeMassena's Power Computation 28,950 27,210 10,300 Same as above plus superheater percentage 37,346 35,917 12,669 Power L1 60,547 59,775 28,772 Power MT 1853.93 1830.29 1285.77 (and drive wheels that were 4" smaller in diameter) This is where something starts to smell fishy. The bottom line is that America's forgotten gem of a locomotive should get ALL it's due.

@@seargentvader8874 Baltic on top, generally because of how it runs 100 mph daily while pulling passengers, top speed could be around 125-130 smth like that, other than that it's design is a 10. Simply an amazing piece of how it looks.
