Loving these vids, especially this one as i frequent this route all the time when traveling by train and is quite funny to see all the stations and surroundings in near perfect detail :-) Plus the vids make for a great sleeping aid. Not that they are boring at all, it's just white noise such as the sound of trains in operation, in combination with your narration, is relaxing. Train noise has always helped me sleep as i live nearby the track and has helped me sleep since i was a nipper :D

Thanks, I'm glad to hear that you're enjoying these videos. I agree with you that it's always good to see routes which you know well simulated within the game :) You're not the first person to say these videos are a good sleeping aid for the same reason, so I know it's only meant in a good way and not in a bad way :)

Yet another great video, loved the 303's and know this route well. Pronunciations were fine apart from Scotstoun/ scotstounhill (pronounced Scotstin) but perfect otherwise. Nice to see the route how it was before the m74 motorway changed things. There is a horrid light blue overbridge about the platforms at Rutherglen. Thanks for posting this. All the best.

I've also just remembered that although this add-on is labelled as the North Clyde line, it's actually the Argyle line which you were driving along. I meant to add this to my previous comment. The North Clyde line runs from Helensburgh Central, Balloch and Milngavie (pronounced Mul-guy) via Patrick, Glasgow Queen St Low Level, Airdrie and Bathgate to Edinburgh Waverley. The Argyle line runs from Dalmuir and Milngavie via Patrick, Glasgow Central Low Level and Rutherglen to Motherwell, the Hamilton Circle, Larkhall, Coatbridge Central via Whifflet (peak only) and Carstairs; and since December 2014 also to Whifflet via Kirkwood. All these routes are electrified and use Class 318, 320 and 334 in up to 6 car formations which are commonly mixed between the classes. 380s are normally only seen on the express service from Glasgow Central High Level to Lanark.
@PTGRail9 жыл бұрын
Ben Reid Thanks for the information, it's really helpful :)
@iainamackay9 жыл бұрын
The extension is based in 2013 so neither the Whifflet nor Cumbernauld lines are electrified. I'm going to include a DMU Queen St-Cumbernauld scenario at some point, for example! And this video is technically on the North Clyde Line/WCMLNorth merged route, which covers the Argyle Line in its entirety. :-)
@SDF18729 жыл бұрын

Another thing, If you plan to do any journeys in the future covering between Milngavie - Springburn or such in a Class 320 set before 2006, there's a pretty high quality NX Scotrail SPT Carmine Cream reskin on UKTS. :)

I was looking forward to this video, and I was not at all disappointed. However, I do feel that a class 318/320 would be more appropriate for this route, since the branch to Larkhall was opened in 2005. Still a great video, as always.
@PTGRail9 жыл бұрын
David Beckett Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed this video. :) I didn't realise that the Larkhall branch was only reopened in 2005, or else I would probably have used the Class 320 instead.
@singledeckermichael86087 жыл бұрын
True - however it was a reopening of an existing station which previously closed in 1965 - 5 years after the 303 entered service 😉

Regarding the framerates, the 303 seems to have the same bug as the M8. Swapping out the 303 for the original IHH 303 results in a significant performance boost, I tend to drive the re-released 303 because as you say the AP soundpack makes it driveable but i still use the IHH 303s for all the AI.

Hey - thanks for posting this! I'm the creator of the North Clyde Line part of the route for Railworks so it's great to see a video of it here. Feel free to send me any feedback. :-)
@PTGRail9 жыл бұрын
Iain Mackay Hey.. awesome! :) I must say I really enjoyed the driving for this video. It's a great extension, and I'd like to make more videos on it. Thanks for creating this! One thing which I did feel was missing were speed posts in the centre part of Glasgow. The speed changes are only small changes, but it made it more difficult when driving without the HUD. Other than that, a thoroughly enjoyable journey :)
@iainamackay9 жыл бұрын
+PTGRail Yes, to be honest, when I was doing my research I actually noticed there were a lot of places where the speed limit changes with no corresponding sign... I got past that to an extent by placing signs then dragging them below the ground out of sight so they at least appear in the HUD! For people that drive without the HUD though, it's pretty hard in a featureless tunnel, so I might look at adding some signs for the "mid tunnel" parts for the next release. :-)
@iainmackay59939 жыл бұрын
+PTGRail FYI - I've trialled putting speed limit signs in the Argyle line tunnels in the latest test version. Hopefully it'll be an improvement! The Queen St tunnels have no speed limit changes in them. :-)

when the signal was not displaying an aspect at hamilton. you have to assume that it is at a danger aspect so you technically had a spad there.
@PTGRail8 жыл бұрын
As there's no way to request to pass the signal in TS as it's a 'clear' signal with a blank face, it's best just to ignore it. In real life you would always treat it as a signal at danger :)

Slightly lower textures and details on this route for example the stadium/sports track just after Scotstounhill, and the building textures at Partick
@iainmackay59939 жыл бұрын
sreevesfrancois I have to admit, Partick was one of the first stations created on the route and I've had it in mind to go back and freshen it up at some point for quite a while. This will likely happen but probably not in the current phase (which is Phase 3 to Springburn and the Maryhill Line). Scotstoun Leisure Centre, which although I'd love to have custom assets for the stadium, I'm afraid I'm unlikely to go back and update now. I already have a massive list of custom assets to make for the route! Like the Erskine Bridge for example. :-)

I get a train from larkhall to Glasgow central on a daily basis. Overall, this is a really good representation of the line but a few things caught my eye. At Newton there should be a bridge between the two platforms - similar to the one at Hamilton Central at @50:30. At Hamilton West, that train that went on to platform 1 should be going to Dalmuir instead of Glasgow Central At Hamilton Central, the end of platform 2 there should have been a walkway to a multi-story car park You did pronounce Chatelherault correctly At Larkhall, the ramp that you see from the train should be at the other side of the platform and be a flat ramp
