John Hamlin Awesome! I'm glad that my video helped you learn the route :) I think driving without the HUD is a whole new experience.. it can really transform the game :)

PTGRail On that, any tips for spotting the gradient signs? Comming from Deansgate Man Pic, is downhill!! Also youmention these all the time, what the heck is mporth (I think board) what does it look like. The spelling would be cool, too!
@PTGRail9 жыл бұрын
John Hamlin Haha! No, I don't look out for gradient signs. When learning the route, I just learn where the gradients are. Sometimes you can clearly see then the track goes up or down, other times it's not so clear. And a Morpeth board is the inverted triangular board with a yellow border on it - it's an advanced warning used for some speed limits :)

Moleman978 Thank you, Moleman! :) I love the sound that the Networkers make, and I generally prefer the 3rd rail units. Not quite such a fan of the newer motors on them though.

Yeah when the Brush Motors went it was a sad day, now the BREL 465's sound like slow class 395's :/
@Moleman9789 жыл бұрын
***** That isn't true, all Class 465s built by ABB/BREL now have hitachi motors, I go on them often enough to confirm this, the Metro Cammell built ones still have their old motors luckily.
@Moleman9789 жыл бұрын
I also get them to work daily, and they never have the old brush motors, there are 97 BREL/ABB Class 465s and all of them have Hitachi motors since 2009/2010.

You must stop at the S car monitors, because that is where the monitors are positioned, you can NOT stop anywhere you like ,Sydenham Hill , Penge East and Kent House all have S car monitors on the down Chatham main
@PTGRail9 жыл бұрын
nigel bryant At Sydenham Hill, I stopped in the correct place. At Penge East, I chose that stopping point as I thought DTG had missed out a 4-car sign; they often do. The platform layout made where I stopped the most logical place that it would be in real life to me. At Kent House, I stopped at the '4'/'6' car stop sign which is the correct place.

You're forgiven for slipping up at Sydenham Hill, i'm just delighted to see it featured! This was my home station when I was growing up and I traveled this route countless times, mainly on the old Class 415 (4EPB) stock. My only comment would be that I think you got the starting platforms mixed up at Victoria, the stopping services always went from 1-4 and the fast 'boat trains' would have departed from around platform 8. Will you upload this to Steam? Id love to run it with the AI you used.
@PTGRail9 жыл бұрын
simonmd2000 Haha thanks! I'm just old enough to remember travelling on the slammers quite frequently in the south east when I was a teenager. Though for me it was Class 421s and 423s. I followed the real timetable for the platform I departed from, I think is is often platform 7 or 8 for the Orpington services. I hadn't thought about it but will consider uploading this scenario to Steam. Thanks for your comment :)
@simonmd20009 жыл бұрын
PTGRail They may have changed it of course, I haven't used that line myself for maybe 10 years now but it always used to be the first couple of platforms. Please do upload the scenario though and thanks again for your vid's in general, such a nice change to get some facts instead of some of these 'lets play channels'!

simonmd2000 I will see what I can do. Most of my South London Network scenarios end up on Workshop eventually :)
@PTGRail9 жыл бұрын
simonmd2000 And thanks, just read the second part of your comment again. That's the whole idea for this channel - to be used to help others learn more about railways, trains and handling trains within the simulator. Facts over waffle where possible. Though I think there are a couple of videos I waffle just a little in lol.. especially when there's a long stretch of track at the same speed limit with nothing much to do! Lol

A fair question I guess, as lots of people don't 'get' it. I've always known these videos are very much a niche within a niche. People who like trains, want to learn more about them, and want to get the most out of Train Simulator are the main audience.
