37:10 Flashing green = 140mph / 225 kph; Green = 125mph / 201 kph; Double yellow > Single Yellow > Red (stop) I believe that was how they planned it but they switched to in cab signalling as a requirement for >125 / 201

Third rail is DC so there is no need for neutral sections as the substations are closer together. Third rail also runs at a lower voltage

Another very entertaining video and I'll be having the AP pack as soon as I get paid! I've got a 4k monitor, and TS runs pretty well at 30 or so fps (with the usual stutter). It's fine for the most part but the problem is that on memory-intensive, newer routes like Chatham and South London, unless you knock the settings down to high, the game goes over 4Gb total memory usage and crashes - afaik that's because it's a 32-bit engine. It's especially tricky if you're playing AP scenarios. It does really help with signals and signage though, certainly a big difference from my old 1360x768 monitor. By contrast FSX works a treat in 4k, looks great and runs well.

Passenger view is stock with the original Steam pack. AP didn't do anything to it. Also as a big Robbie Williams, I previously always associated Knebworth with his big 2003 live shows. And one time on Top Gear, James May test drove the FAB1 from the Thunderbirds film in Knebworth.

Very nice! I have the Class 91 in this livery on Trainz 12, only that one livery unfortunately, this game also only includes one livery too (IC Swallow), but when i get this pack at christmas, i will be able to have 8 more additional liveries without the Intercity Swallow logo still showing on the DVT. Would of been cool if AP added both Flying Scotsman liveries and both Word War liveries to this pack as well. :)

The Class 91 speed record was actually 161.7mph in 1989, so while it was the fastest locomotive on the rail network, the APT-E just about it held onto the general record at 162mph in 1979. Eurostar broke both these records with locomotive and general speed in 2003 at 208mph. There's your facts for the video Moleman :)

The 91s are really nice locos i hope some get preserved when the 800/1s come as they are too good to scrap and they still have loads of life left in them and also the speed record for these is 161.7 MPH as you mentioned they could do more than 140

You say they have loads of life left in them, but they are reaching the age that the designers built them for. If nowhere else needs them, I have a feeling they'll start to go. But yes, preservation is a must, especially for the UK's fastest locomotive!

Class 91s actually don't have much time left, as they are pretty worn out in terms of equipment and technology. Mk4s on the other hand may have quite the future if they can find a placement! The Class 91s have been earmarked as testing the Mk5s, but maybe they could be a stand in until the proper 125mph locos come on in. Until they arrive, it's Class 68 haulage at 100mph.

Hi moleman978 what do you think about the XPT in Australia? its just like the intercity 125 but only has a max speed of 160km/h(100mph) it also has different headlights and horn.. On a test run to Albury on 18 September 1992 the XPT reached 193 km/h between Table Top and Yerong Creek.

I have been in the cab of 91 before and a Alstom logo is missing where the AWS Set/Reset button is.

That's probably because DTG, who made the train, aren't allowed to put the logo there, probably not licensed (Alstom themselves could quite easily say no, and they are within their full right to do that). AP, as far as I can tell, haven't done any cab work to the loco and as such, it wasn't added then either.

It would be very nice if DTG could feature a full, 393-mile long ECML as opposed to having just the KGX-PBO route. Sadly however, no computer would be able to handle the loads of sceneries and contents along the 393-mile long route. Fun fact, the PBO is 76.5 miles away from KGX, the High Speed 1 is 67 miles in total, from STP to , and adds just around 20 or less miles to reach DVP, so why would the devs not extend the HS1 down to AFK and go further to DVP?

+superalbs Moleman's computer could handle a 119-mile GWML route, and T:ANE had the 393-mile long route, so I'd take it back. Well so that means they could actually make a route from STP to XFF, traversing through the Channel Tunnel! I remembered this one guy that originally made the Channel Tunnel, but then extended it further to STP & Lille Europe. It means that it is actually possible make a line of that length. Sadly though, controversies arises, despite the pack being approved by Eurotunnel, did not get released. In conclusion, it actually mean DTG sucks, for not doing long routes like these. Sadly however, some other simulator game devs sucks too, like N3V (Trainz) and SCS (ETS2 & ATS), in some aspects.

So, moleman, you know that new SimuGraph thing? Well, that will make it a lot easier to make super locomotives. They will also be more "realistic", in theory. (UE4 is really nice.) Basically, that means I'll at least try to make everything DTG releases for TSW super-it's a lot harder to do this stuff in TS17 with messy XML files and the LUA scripts messing with physics...

Unless the dev tools are crap, then it's harder. XMLs in TS are easy to work with, I can read them easily. :P Also, you don't need to touch LUA files, or XML for that matter, you just change values in the DCSV files.

The dev tool is UE4-and like I said, UE4 is really nice. If you paid attention to the video, you could see that they started from nothing and created the drivetrain of a DMU-XML is pointless to try starting fresh from. And don't tell me how to mod these files, I know all this stuff, and LUA files can mess with physics making the DCSV files not work as intended... (ALP45DP for you) And if you like reading hundreds of lines of then have fun living in the past.

Nope, Class 390 Pendolino was introduced onto the WCML in 2002, where as the Class 373 began Eurostar services in 1994, and were also used on the ECML between 2000 and 2005

It's a TS screenshot, with ever so slightly tweaked contrast levels etc. plus a vignette. I then cut out the foreground, give it a border line and blur the background. It is helped in this case by AP's TS lighting pack with gives everything a richer feel.
