when the clocks went forward back in March there was a HST between Chippenham and Bath and it left Chippenham on time but arrived at Bath over an hour late cos the clocks went forward. Imagine that: "We are sorry to announce that this service is delayed by approximately 60 minutes. This is due to the clocks going forward." lol

Reading was purposely made to have 'bi directional' platforms instead of buffered platforms at the Caversham end, so that GWR services through to Oxford could use the same platforms a terminating Crossrail train from Shenfield could or even a terminating CrossCountry train from Newcastle. Buffered platforms would severely limit the use of the platform so I think it was a good call building the bi directional system.

Info comes from reading/watching from multiple sources, its just learning, at its heart and we all do that every day. DLC comes from various sources, I have purchased the likes of Western Mainlines and the Class 313 from Just Trains and AP respectively, and others like RSSLO (less often) and DTG tend to send me DLC to make videos on for you guys. Having said that, I have purchased a large amount from DTG also in the past.

I will certainly be checking out some streams. Why didn't you use the 43002 with 3-D nameplates and 40 year anniversary plates? I too am hoping for a 43185, as now I've been using regular Intercity.

Because this isn't the GWML that is available on Steam, this is Western Mainlines which is available from JustTrains. It goes from Paddington to Oxford, Cardiff and Exeter - an extension to Bicester has already been released, the extension to Plymouth will soon be released and they just announced the line to Penzance.

The sounds here are from the discontinued AP HST MTU Sound Pack, which has now been replaced with the MTU Enhancement Pack

The 373's used to run on third rail out of Waterloo International, and the were woefully under-powered on the 750V DC, plus they've had their shoes removed and can't pick up from the rail anymore now. HS2 is planned to operate at a speed much higher than the 373's can perform at, they'd only be slowing up the entire network :)

The power car 43002, operated by GWR, was painted into its original 1976 BR Blue 'InterCity 125' livery to commemorate 40 years of service. They have also recently painted 43185 into the InterCity Swallow livery for the same occasion.
