Fantastic project. I enjoy the idea of the little train just curious on what size bullets that they will be able to shoot these targets with without it damaging it.

This target is for a Cowboy Action Shooting club. They only use lead bullets (no jacketed or plated bullets allowed) at target velocities. As I was told, most use .38 special and .45 Colt at a max of 1000 fps pistols/1400 fps rifle. They said most are more like 650/800 fps--light target loads. Since these targets are AR plate, they will withstand full power 9mm or 45ACP pistol rounds or non-AP 5.56 at 100 yds+. But you never shoot steel targets with jacketed or plated ammo at close range due to risk of ricochet. That's one reason the Cowboy shooters only uses soft lead bullets

Obviously it depends on how much you use the table, but mine last about a year with my usage pattern. You can flip them over after a while and use the other edge, too.
