This movie shows the sad reality of how people react when faced with crisis and overcome with fear. No longer considering anyone else as people, just pure survival mode. And this movie has alot of attention to detail, depending on where the zombies bite the longer it takes to turn, if they bite on the neck it's instant, on the hand takes a few minutes, girl in the beginning was bit somewhere on the leg took her a while to turn and she tried to apply a tourniquet. There was even the detail of them struggling more fighting the young athletic baseball player zombies. I love this movie. Keep up the good work.

But there are also good people. those who sacrifice, those who put others ahead of themselves. The soldiers who hesitated, waiting as long as possible. The man who sacrificed himself for not just his pregnant wife, but the guy who was nothing but a jerk to him. The baseball player, who was nothing but a kid, shy, insecure, he chose to die with who he loved.

@@MarcoMM1 to be fair, he was a class A Dirtbag long before the crisis and only played out his character or lack of morality and ethics. He was hardly a pillar of the community/ upstanding citizen whose character was under pressure. Some corrupt dirtbags just thrive stepping the backs of others to the end.
@genghisgalahad8465Ай бұрын
People in general aren't like this character for the greater part. They don't suddenly flip a switch to selfish dirtbag unless they already are, which this guy was, long before the crisis. No amount of fear or pressure can change that or him. The saying, adversity REVEALS character.

Ma Dong Seok is such a legend. He is the one who played husband of the pregnant lady. I love to see him in movies so much. Got his name even popular in Hollywood and played in Marvel movie, one of the main roles in Eternals. 😊 This year came out post-apo movie where he plays main role - Badland Hunters. Maybe not the best one. But still love it mainly because of him. 😅 Btw. If you love Gong Yoo. You should try tv show - "Guardian: the lonely and great god" aka also known as "Goblin". He is amazing in that. 😊 That show is one of the most popular ones between k-drama fans.

I was coming on to say this. Every year I go to cover the Sitges Film Festival for my channel. And every year, I hold an awards ceremony. Amazing movie - it hits so hard, especially if you go in just expecting a silly zombie movie and then it hits you with the characters. Korean cinema is just nailing the characters. You got the central theme: the way normal humans react in a crisis, and how some of them appear to change. I think you're right about the girl's dad, he believed he was doing right taking care of his daughter but it was making him appear selfish. I also think that put him on a path where he could have become like the A-hole guy. But his daughter's empathy, and the pregnant woman's husband, gave him a wakeup call at just the right time. The foreshadowing when they guy is talking about fathers taking all the sh*t and none of the praise, and says "it's all about sacrifice." And then they (and several other good characters) sacrifice themselves to save others.

I watched people react to the scene where the father is infected and chooses to jump from the train to prevent him from attacking his daughter when he turns. Most of the women reacting cry a lot, but the majority of the men are like "That's what you do when you're a Dad. You protect your children with your life. It's what you sign up for when you become a father. It's your job. He did his job. Good for him".

I'm not a horror person at all, and the only "Zombie" anything I have ever watched was an episode of the Superfriends and the Legion of Doom did something that led to a zombie attack(was pretty good actually). That being said, this movie blew me away, as it was of course a zombie film, but it was so deep when it came to the "human" element of it all. You had those willing to sacrifice themselves for others, those who only thought of themselves, those that became better in the moment, and some who became worse. So many amazing performances across the board, and you really felt for every character, good or bad, as how would any of us react in such a situation? As a kid who grew up on Anime back in the late 80's & early 90's, I'm surprised I haven't given more Asian "live action" productions a chance, as the few I've seen in recent years have been amazing. "All of Us Are Dead" is another good zombie effort in a series format on Netflix, and while not as good as Train to Busan, it was very good in its own right.

If you enjoy Korean series, I highly recommend the zombie/monster series "SWEET HOME" "KINGDOM" (series not the film with same name) and "HELLBOUND". The detective series "PARTNERS FOR JUSTICE" is excellent as well. It is superb, really worth checking out).

With regard to whose "fault" it is, the subtitle translations are a bit off. From what I understand from actual Korean speakers, when Analyst Kim calls, he informs Gong Yoo's character that they saved "Y" Biotech from bankruptcy, which is why he feels responsible (presumably because had "Y" Biotech gone under, they wouldn't have been around to do whatever they did that led to the outbreak).
