how to compare this to the Roland Vocal Workouts with the VT-12... and what about today now in late 2023... what new devices can compete with this one that is out there? now with all AI helpful tech, there must be someone , some brand that made a more interesting and advanced product for us singers to get the best help from.. what have you guys seen and heard about? please share if you happen to see my comment. tbanks!

Thank you for your video. This is a very useful instrument that I don't even need a piano, guitar, harmonica etc to tell me what C key, D key, E flat keys sound. I will get one soon.

excellent , shows octaves but only displays sharps not flats! I use it to pitch a given song for the celtic harp ( It is much better than rolland vt-12 for my purposes as it shows which octave you are singing , i.e c3 c4 etc ). However my harp is often tuned with flats : i wish there was a way to use flats instead of sharps! next iteration of the device , hopefully!

If you don't have an acoustic piano right now the KORG VPT-1 will be tbe best Friend for a Beginner singer (or advanced)

She doesn't mention if this unit can calibrate the pitch-reference to Scientific Tuning (A-432), which many musicians are now switching to. Korg, are you out there?

Been doing this for years with a chromatic tuner.

It may be that this device compensates for the pitch-wavering that that the human voice produces. In other words, its easier for a tuner to match a piano or guitar note than one from a human voice. Even if you are a professional singer.

Is this device limited to detecting pitch according to the pitches of equal temperament? Those intervals are not pure. Or is the instrument also capable of being set to detect the intervals of "just intonation", which are acoustically pure intervals?

I think it's just for equal temperament. If you're looking for just intonation, I think Roland VT-12 provides that feature. Side question: for vocal training, would it make any difference given you just want to sing regular music?
