I truly appreciate you videos, love watching the dogs work. They really enjoy working with the sheep. I like how you share your life with us, including Stacey. I think the interaction between the two of you shows a true partnership. I eagerly look forward to more videos. Thank you for sharing with me. Priscilla

YOur videos are highly informative and quite addictive! This evening I just found myself saying "that'll do" to the cat, who looked at me like I had lost my marbles! Perhaps I am developing a "sheep cat!"

Border collies are exceptional dogs and extremely intelligent. It takes a really fair, rewarding and consistent training plan to train a working dog, especially a border collie. Good job Sean.

We rescued a puppy years ago and were told it was a cocapoo, HA, it kept growing and growing into a beautiful dog who looked just like yours. These videos would have come in handy. Max wanted to herd everything; people, toys, kids, parked cars, and moving cars (too scary). At that point we found him a home on a farm with someone experienced with working dogs because a city is just not the place for that type of dog. But I had no idea these dogs have such a stong drive to work. It was eye opening. Thank you for all of your videos and insight. I know it's alot of work to bring us into your day but it is truly appreciated.

Hi Sean, I must tell you that I'm up there in age and don't have a dog for that reason, although I have had the love and joy of having them live with me throughout my life untill they passed. I love listening to you about training your dogs. Watching the way they eagerly wait your command is proof of how much they love doing this work. It thrills me to watch them run with the love of it. Thank you for sharing all that you do with them.

I'm a great fan your videos and love being taken back to my farmhand days in the Colorado Rockies. You are hitting all the high points amazingly well, especially in your training series. By the way, I love the musical backgrounds. There's something very soothing and satisfying about watching you take your dogs out for some real herding, and the background music that you expertly choose adds very much to the experience. Our US version of KZbin tends to mix up dates of release. So we see many videos in a mixed-up order. But they are enjoyable and valuable in any order. (I'd love to follow through consecutively now and then but it's rare when that happens.) Thanks for what you are doing. In my farming/ranching life, we never had working dogs. (We had cattle, horses, and did alfalfa hay farming.) I'm reliving that time through your amazing videos of herding and farm chore life, and your loving care for these beautiful animals. John

Love your videos and watching you interact with your beautiful dogs. I’ve had rough collies for 40 yrs and train them to be therapy dogs. They are always ver attuned to me. But watching you beautiful videos makes me a bit sad my dogs can’t live the fantastic lifestyle yours do. BTW- Ilove❤the music!!

I respectfully disagree with your statement "this might not be te most interesting" I wish they''d been available 12 years ago when I struggled with my very headstrong Labrador puppy at our local dog club Puppy Class. She never really became highly obedient, but was always a Mama's girl. If/when I ever another dog I shall be working through your videos like I was studying for a degree! Many thanks for the inspirational videos, greetings from sunny (I'm sure I've seen it for at least 10 minutes this week!) Fort William

Thank you for this and looking forward to the next! Really helps to have reminder about getting back to basics. My 8 yr old black mouth cur was trained as a puppy for herding cattle, but her cowboy gave her up. She then retired to be my chicken guardian 😆. She always had the will & instinct but last few years I haven't been able to keep up. So now she has slipped off her training because I have. What's your experience or opinion about reinstating training with older dogs that once were very keen?

Hey sean, have a border collie, who is just a home dog on a farm (no sheep) She is 13 months and a blast. She gets everything! Recently she is starting to try to help when I call in my horses, by making sounds, getting impatient when my horses dont come immediately and barks and acts as if she wants to help ke get them in. She seems to understand EVERYTHING about what I am saying, with no training and is offering herself to work. So I want to give her some jobs, but not sure I want her to herd my horses. But it would be fun to work on our communication and come up with things she could help me with like move scarecrows or … actually dont know yet, but it should feel natural. I am seeing what you are doing here in this video, but your ones frok your heart work better I think, is it OK I tell you this… as an old journalist I cant help it 😂😂😂 I have an idea for you. Because I think you do this every day and have fun. So instead of having a lot of pointy fingers, about how hard everything is… use your brilliant fun way instead and show us how hard you work, but how fun you have… An idea example of how you could execute on this video using your sense of humour…and justbe you showing how much you train 2 most important commands: Lie down and that’ll do Just show it in tons of ways how you practice lie down and that’ll do Just show it again and again and again and write tons of fun comments like: xtimes a day, all year round, and she is 5 Show it the way you really do it, how you love it.’show how storm is brilliant, kate is good and how your third one (cant remember her name) really iS behind, with that simple humor you find natural. It is so funny. Show how you practice things, one command at a time cut together, lots and lots of times which will show and not tell how often repeat is necessary. Much more fun to warch than you explaining, and the point comes across in a showing way, not a telling way… Show command - with a long lead, and then without and repeat and repeat and put a simple text on the video, x times a day eternally Or just be you… I found you because I am finding it hard to find training videos that arent ordinary dog training videos…. And that she is way past. I just cant get myself to train her ordinary commands that dont have a real job in them. She is far too clever. She wants to truly be my oartner and is offering herself 24/7 Thats how I came looking for some commands/invitations/ ways to signal/communicate that would make more sense to her, so for example I can go riding with her and she can go forward and scout and come back and get a sense of being a part of a team… Currently am teaching her to go forward and come back and lie down. This seems to be very exciting for her, but when it doesnt end up with simething to actually do she gets a bit confused. Am even considering getting some sheep just for her to have something to do…

Thanks so much for this video. I actually used the part about the necessity for a working dog to have the will to work in my Gospel Reflection class. The class was having a hard time wrapping their hearts and minds around what the Lord was telling his apostles in Luke 17:5-10. This passage immediately brought to my mind your video. I was able to find it. The class loved it and said, “Now it makes sense!”. Thanks so much. God bless you, your family, your dogs and your sheep.

That is appalling. But at the same time so right, people who believe are like sheep. And you try to be a herder.
