Training horses in a square pen

OH! Lunging. Nothing new there. I don't agree with working the horse in a snaffle with the trainer pulling on the corner of his mouth. There others ways to lunge the horse, especially a horse who is concerned, or hot -- in a snaffle and not pull him around. Using reins, people risk getting kicked. There are many reasons to lunge and many things to look for that should lead to riding. One thing must connect with the other. Many people using this technique end up "chasing" horses and make them harder to catch! The roundpen (square pen) has been over used , misused and abused. Four generations of people doing this stuff and each time it has becomes more dilute.
