There are old pro boxers with long pro careers who didn't get arthritis. There are people who did nothing out of the ordinary who end up with severe arthritis. It's kind of one of those things....it can happen either way. I'm sure there are things that aggravate it or bring it on earlier, not arguing that there aren't. I just don't think the risk is enough that it should stop you from really going after what you want, whether that's MMA, karate, mountain climbing, boxing, hang gliding, swimming, whatever it is.

@@frankreynolds7404 They don't and that's definitely not good for self defense but that's black and white thinking because there are many aspects of Karate which make for good self defense. Traditional martial arts are the roots of modern MMA, especially karate, boxing, jiu-jitsu and muay thai. Bruce Lee especially loved wing chun, boxing and karate, but he saw how all martial arts lacked in someway so he founded mixed martial arts and what we know as MMA today. He saw that the great characteristics of Karate is the power, and the body conditioning. I've not seen any UFC fighter with as good body conditioning as many Karate practitioners because in Karate there is almost an unparalleled focus on those things.

@@thelastaramusha It most certainly isn't Shotokan. Dude is seen doing Gekkisai Dai and Seiyunchin (part of both the Goju Ryu and Kyokushin curriculum), and training his grip with Nigiri Game jars (method of Okinawa Karate conditioning found in styles like Goju Ryu or Uechi Ryu).

@@thelastaramusha Definitely Kyokushin, the point this guy is trying to make (you have to be physically strong), his technique (we learn to hit yodan, we just dont hit yodan in tournaments). The whole mindset of this dude is kyokushin. Also look at the kanji at his dogi. It stands for shinkyokushinkai, which is a kyokushin karate style. All his techniques were straight from kyokushin. Kyokushin is the only real full contact karatestyle, but its also a mindset of pushing your limits. Being the boss of your body when your body says NO.

I'd like to see all of those negative commentators sparring with this guy 😂 the title is "Training motivation" not "I fear nobody" he has built an incredible foundation based on strength, elasticity and endurance, that is required in all martial arts. Remember, no matters what you do, karate, boxing, mma, the human body is the same, and to be efficient, have to respond in the same way.

Really not necessary, but we each have to do what we feel is right for us. I've taught for over fifty years ad still do. I work out on my style of Kenpo three times a week and teach a few black belts. I always train to build and keep my strength. Being old now, I've noticed that people think that I am 20 years younger than I am. I realized that my training in Kenpo has kept me limber all these years and I move like a guy 20 or more years younger. Sifu, Puyallup, WA

Amazing! Truly inspiring. Why did you feel you had to wear a white belt at the beginning. Your kicks, punches and technique were all BB level. Your fitness and discipline was off the charts. What’s your story? I want more.
