Big thank you Brian and Isabel, I put this vid on my screen in front of my trainer, was planning to do 10-15 min to warm up for Zwift, but I forgot about Zwift completely and did the whole ride with you instead! Great energy from you both. And yes those skid marks going straight to the edge are so sketchy...

What a lovely and friendly rider Isabel is. Here in UK so many riders think they're it, there's little Camaraderie among others when I'm out on a training ride. I'd love to ride with that Isabel King👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻❤️

Having grown up at the base of Baldy, this makes me super happy to see my teenage stomping grounds shown some love. Also makes me super nervous though having seen a lot of the accidents that had happened up there on GMR/GRR.

Brian, I enjoy your videos! I'm impressed that you ride safely and sanely, such as rarely crossing the double yellow. I especially enjoyed watching this ride on a rainy December 30 afternoon. I've ridden GMR many times, but I've never done GRR in this direction. We usually start from Grand just north of the 210 freeway, and when we get to the Mt Baldy Lodge, we bomb down Mt Baldy Rd at up to 80km/h. So it was fun to watch you two ride up GRR from the lodge, and ride the descents that I've only climbed! Kudos to the very strong Isabel! You did a great job first time on the ride down to East Fork.

So Cal is being hit by true winter storms coming out of the arctic right now. One about ten days ago. Another right now. It's surprising. They've been so rare over the last decade. They used to be more normal two decades ago. A lot that road, GMR, already has a lot of snow on it right now. About the entire thing will be covered in snow tonight. The yellow gates you see in the video are probably already closed. GMR isn't regularly snow-plowed. But after the storm passes, SAFA will still find sun and good roads on the "westside" off of Malibu. Nice thing about these storms is that a day or two after they pass, it's usually warm, bright and sunny again. That's the beauty of So Cal winters, even when there are real winter storms.

SAFA, the sound (on Isabel) is really good. Hardly any wind noise. What kind of a mic is it and is it under her jersey and paired to your camera? If you hear her, I think this can also be an important safety device for people riding in a group or a race as it is peer-to-peer.
